A really good place for some great Dosa (& South Indian varieties) and tiffin options in particular when it comes to Veg restaurants in the neighborhoods of Artesia. The restaurant lives up to its reputation for the original Tirupati branch.
THE FOOD: We got Sambar Vadai, Paneer Dosa, Batura with Chole and Batura with Paneer along with rose milk. Sambar Vadai was spicy to some extent and probably because it was hot we felt more. It’s soft and nicely made. The Paneer dosa was very good, and the paneer tasted great as well. The Batura was excellent. Not so oily and seemed like it was fried in fresh oil. The Paneer gravy was kind of decent not the best but the Chole was so good. Been here 6 years before and it still remained the same: good at quality and quantity. Rose milk was usual like any other place.
SERVICE & AMBIENCE: The place is well lit and gives a typical Indian hotel vibe. The restaurant gives a nice feel of having a good home made food especially the spice levels are pretty normal and sits well on your tummy. The staffs and waiters are extremely friendly, fast and make things easier while ordering/ serving and they still allow you to sit and dine past the closing time (unlike SriKrishnaVilas of Cumming,GA who really need to learn from them on how to value customers). Excellent customer service.
BOTTOMLINE: A very traditional South Indian restaurant that excels when it comes to South Indian food items and tiffin, with some amazing Customer service and great ambience with good quality food and priced reasonably well for the quantity offered. Would highly recommend.

Read moreThe ambiance is okay. it looks like a traditional no-frills Indian restaurant. The food was mediocre. Having been to the Northern CA Tirupathi Bhimas, I expected nothing less if not more. To the restaurant: I highly recommend having a few objective tasters to do a thorough tasting of all your dishes. You really need to step up in dish quality; compare with other south indian restuarants. Also your insistence on tips is weird. I have not seen this elsewhere.
Also ensure that you maintain hygiene especially the person who cleans the table and takes away soiled dishes. I suspect there might be cross contamination happening looking at how he was handling the soiled items but not cleaning...
Read moreAfter a traumatizing experience in a nearby Dosa restaurant, we were very skeptical to try Bhimas Veg (for which we had a lot of recommendations from our friends) Tried yesterday, it was a breath of fresh air! AUTHENTIC REAL SAMBHAR!! We ordered Gobi Manchurian as a starter and tried Idli Sambhar, ghee masala dosa, gajar (carrot) halwa, madras tea and filter coffee. Each dish was 10/10. Our server Mr. Devi Karki was so professional, attentive and friendly. Each staff seemed to love their work and were attending to all their customers. Hands down the best Sambhar in the town!! Would definitely come back very often!!! And by the way Tirupathi Bhimas and Bhimas Indian Veg is the same...
