I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at Bhookhe was disappointing enough to warrant one. Despite the restaurant’s decent interior and promising look from the outside, the reality inside was far from acceptable.
The food was of shockingly low quality—bland, poorly prepared, and lacking any real flavor. Frankly, it felt like no care or effort was put into the dishes. For a place that calls itself a restaurant, serving food this bad is simply not acceptable.
To make things worse, our table was dirty when we arrived, with used plates still there. Hygiene clearly isn’t a priority. The only server on duty was polite, but visibly overworked—she was taking orders and serving all by herself, and didn’t seem very welcoming or attentive. One person handling the entire floor is not just bad service management—it’s unfair to both the customers and the employee.
Now, to the manager—arguing with customer reviews instead of addressing the genuine issues raised is not how you run a restaurant. Instead of defending poor performance, put that energy into improving the quality of your food and service. Feedback is a tool for growth, not a fight to win.
In short, Bhookhe may look good, but the food and experience were a major letdown. I sincerely hope the team takes this as constructive criticism and focuses on real improvement rather than excuses.
It’s extremely disappointing to see that the owner of Bhookhe is more invested in writing argumentative replies to guest reviews than actually improving the food quality at the restaurant. Instead of listening to genuine feedback and acknowledging mistakes, the focus seems to be on defending poor service and subpar food – which is frankly unprofessional and unacceptable in the hospitality industry.
What’s even more shocking is the audacity to reply to customer reviews in the middle of the night – not with humility or concern – but with arrogance and denial. Rather than taking accountability and making real improvements, the management prefers to argue with guests who are simply sharing their honest experiences.
It’s a shame that energy is being wasted on defending what can only be described as badly prepared food, rather than correcting it. If you put half the effort into your kitchen that you put into your review responses, Bhookhe might actually serve something worth coming back for.
Please take this as a wake-up call – not every negative review is an attack. Sometimes, it’s your last chance to make...
Read more[Sept 9, 2023] First time an authentic Rajasthani cuisine in town (Artesia), fully vegetarian. I kept myself super hungry for the evening to have the famous "Maharaja Thali" which comes with too many options in it. And believe me, you need to be super hungry to finish all that alone. It includes daal baati (with ghee separately, do not forget about it to put it on baati, 3 regular baatis, 1 masala baati), and daal was super yummy. Churma (5), Kadi (4), gatte ki sabzi (4) [gatta was soft enough and yet yummy, gravy could have been little thicker, but it was very good if not excellent], 3 type of Rotis (1-Bajra, 1-Besan, 1-Regular Rajasthani Roti - a little thick compared to North Indian Rotis, and I love all of 'em) (5), Rice, laddoo (very yummy), Chaash (Buttermilk-4), Moong Daal Halwa (5), boondi raita (5*), garlic chutney, and couple of other delicacies as well - See I already forgot some names. "Sartaz Thali" for my teenage daughter and her comment was "I never this kind of daal makhani ever in USA". It was so delicious. She did not allow us to taste it even. Contents: Daal Makhani (5), kadai paneer (4), 2 Lachha Paratha (4), Boondi Raita (5), Gulab Jamun (4), Samosa (4) + chutney (5*), Rice and Chaash (Buttermilk).
Pyaaz Kachori (4), and Mirchi bada (3). In Rajasthan, especially in Jodhpur, Mirchi Bada, Pyaaz Ki Kachori, and Shahi Samosas are hot selling products... this restaurant used their best efforts to bring the same taste here in Artesia for us. A place one must visit to taste an authentic (or near authentic) Rajasthani food.
Owners: Anshul and Pooja Dwivedi, they are sweet couple! Anshul visit to each table and request feedback, and ensures that diners are happy.
We visited around 8.30 pm (Restaurant closes at 9.00pm) and we got the table quickly (within 5 mins). a lot of menu options! I will have to try Ghewar (Sweet), Anshul and Pooja told us that they get it from Jaipur every week. we live very nearby (within 5 miles) and will definitely visit on a weekday as weekends are super crazy and long queue. And after food, try "Paan".
Parking: Street and paid (first hours free), nice little India Town with lots of Indian shops around...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was hands down the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The staff seemed completely disorganized and indifferent.
Cleanliness was also a huge issue. The floor was sticky, the tables were greasy, and the bathrooms were filthy. Honestly, I’m shocked this place is still operating — it felt like a health hazard.
First of all, the food had nothing to do with real Rajasthani cuisine. It tasted bland and lacked any of the richness or depth of flavor that makes Indian food so special. It was like someone had read about Indian spices but never actually used them.
What made it even worse? They’re charging premium prices — yet they serve the food in paper plates with plastic cutlery. For the amount we paid, we expected at least a proper dining experience. Instead, it felt like eating at a low-effort food court stall, not a restaurant.
The hygiene and cleanliness were shocking. When we walked in, several tables still had used plates and leftover food on them. When we left nearly an hour later, nothing had been cleaned. The staff walked past those tables multiple times and ignored them. I genuinely felt like I was sitting next to a dumpster — it was that bad.
To top it all off, my friend posted a review — and instead of taking feedback seriously, the owner responded with arrogance, trying to act like a “cool dude” while being completely unprofessional. No apology, no responsibility, just sarcasm and attitude. That tells you everything you need to know about how they run the place.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. Avoid it if you care about quality food, hygiene, or respectful service.
If you care about your hard-earned money and your self-respect, please avoid...
