A coworker and I were looking for a place to have sushi for lunch, and both of us were pleasantly surprised to have found Mika's. It's an unassuming restaurant tucked into a street mall. The unpretentious decor is dark wood from the floors to the tables, with the focal point being a pink lit wall behind the sushi bar. The menu comes with both written descriptions and photos of various items. Ordering is done by entering a number next to your selection and handing it to the server. We ordered the dancing shrimp roll, the Fuji roll, and the summer roll. They were all decadently delicious. The flavors popped into your mouth like a flashing light bulb, instantly hitting every taste bud. Their prices are what you'd expect for fresh, well-made sushi ranging from $7 for simple rolls to $16 for specialty rolls. My coworker and I highly recommend Mika's if you want delicious sushi.

Let me start by saying that I love Mika. In the past I have rated it 5 stars across numerous visits. Last night, however, quality let me down. I picked up an order for my wife and I and after arriving home and taking care of our infants dinner, we sat down to eat ourselves. I noticed we didn't get any wasabi or ginger which was a bummer but no big deal as I had some on hand. We started eating and the taste seemed different. As I started working through our tray wondering about the taste I realized that we did indeed get wasabi and ginger but it was placed underneath a decent portion of our meal and had been absorbed into the rice of our rolls completely changing the taste. I was only able to stomach a couple more bites as the ginger was incredibly strong before I had to stop and find something else to satisfy the rest of my hunger.

Been here twice for indoor dining and loved it. Sushi presentation was such a wow factor, delicious and fresh fish, and very friendly and attentive service. BUT, today I came for carryout and would never do that again. For the same dishes I've ordered before, the sushi is now tiny, and the 2 spicy rolls are now stuffed with a bread crumb additive. Probably did it to cut cost, but it made the roll disgusting. Wasn't crunchy, just stale grainy bread crumbs, and huge chunks of them. Also, I ordered a spicy tuna and a spicy yellowtail - ended up with 2 of the same. If they're doing it due to less business from the pandemic, I would willingly pay more for the previous quality, not all these shortcuts which made the meal not enjoyable.

Absolutely worst experience from DoorDash to even picking up food a second time in person. We ordered from DoorDash and they someone gave the dasher the smallest bag possible for our 8 items. Anyone with delivering experience or half a brain cell could tell the bag had one item in it and also said it on the receipt stapled to the bag. We then re ordered the same items (should’ve got the hint from the first experience but blamed that on DoorDash) and went to pick them up in person myself. They then gave me a box with all of our items that was made an hour before that our dasher “couldn’t see”. (Didn’t know it was the previous order until we got home and tasted it) It was literally a small moving box full of items. No clue how she “missed” that. Then finally get home and the food is beyond disgusting. We ordered multiple rolls, wantons, beef teriyaki and multiple other items and literally nothing was edible. Not sure how they have so may positive reviews unless those people have never tasted good sushi. If I could give negative...

This place used to be decent, and we frequented it, but now…it’s horrible. Placed a pick-up order, was told it would take 30-40 minutes (and this was 20 minutes after I called to check on the status). Went to pick it up 50 minutes later with a grace period of 10 minutes, and I waited 20 more minutes at the restaurant for the order. I live nearby, and when I got home the cold sushi rolls were warm, the Gyoza was not even lukewarm, the crab cheese wontons I ordered were missing, and there was a miso soup that I didn’t order. I am not one to waste food but I didn’t even feel comfortable eating sushi that is supposed to be cold when it’s warm. Waste of food and money, and to top it off the staff was pretty rude. We will definitely be going to Namiko’s instead from now on!! Good luck if you give Mika a try. P.S. there were only 2 tables of diners in the restaurant. And 3 sushi chefs in the front...

Wouldn’t bother to post a review had this place not been highly rated on Google. Would have much preferred grocery store sushi to this, or fish heads and rice from a Louisiana bait shop. Should have known when searching for directions and several Mika Sushi locations popped up in the Denver area. Everything was warm…and it wasn’t supposed to be warm…starting with 12oz of Kirin. Smoked Salmon - warm. Spicy Salmon roll - warm. California Roll - warm. Ginger- warm. Warm, as in seemingly near room temp. Not exaggerating here. Hope I don’t die from this…or worse, hope I don’t wish I were dead in an hour. More than a little concerned at this point, having just left, sitting in the parking lot writing this review. Was the only person sitting at the bar - the fish and other ingredients right in front of me in the “cooler.” Reminded me that I need to pick up dog food on...
