“We’re Regulars!” *
The decor is average for a Chinese restaurant and restrooms are kept clean.
We’ve ate at a lot of Chinese restaurants worldwide in our decades of life. The people at Red Lantern do an excellent job of serving great food combined with great service. We always read the one star reviews of the place before we do a review, and we’re REALLY surprised by what these unsatisfied one-star customers say happened to them.
We usually avoid doing five star reviews because if you all trust our review, try Red Lantern and then love them - you’ll be regular customers too. Then, Red Lantern will get real busy - and our secret little awesome Arvada Chinese food get-away will have a line out the door every night (and we’ll have to compete with you for a table)! ;-)
So, we write this because the Red Lantern folks really do a great job - and they deserve, and have earned a review like this.
Okay, one time they did not give us our egg rolls on a take-out order - and we left without checking it. We almost always check our orders regardless where we go - take-out, drive-through at fast-food places, etc. This time we didn’t. Yes, they are human too, and can make mistakes. They stepped up and delivered the egg rolls immediately when we called and let them know.
We like the Red Lantern Chinese style because to us, it’s fresh and on the lean side. Not the kind of Chinese food that is heavily deep fried, high-fat and high-salt (although you can make it high-salt if you like lots of soy sauce).
So okay - We’ll risk it and say it: Stop in and see for yourself - Red Lantern Chinese just might have you become...
Read moreThis place seems to be hit and miss. We've ordered from here several times and this evening was a disappointment. I ordered the Vietnamese chicken noodle bowl and didn't get any tomatoes or lettuce in it, a few shreds of carrot and some cucumber. I ordered this because I wanted some veggies and it says these items come with the bowl. So I got some noodles and a piece of chicken sans the majority of the veggies that are to be included. Cheaping out on customers and not including all things that are to come in the dish is a good way to lose customers. We also asked for extra soy sauce and got 2 packets for 4 items of food. **Gave this place another chance April 2024. Decided to drop a star because this place is just not good, too many times. Started when ordering over the phone. Person was pretty rude, kept getting cut off when trying to order every single item, trying to give us a total to get off the phone; you'd think they'd want to sell more but apparently not. Ordered sesame chicken and the pieces were so small it was pretty ridiculous and tasted like batter and overly sweet sauce and hard. Wontons barely contained anything! They are really skimping on the portions. Sweet and sour sauce was so thick (like gel) you could stand a fork in it, not exaggerating and the hot mustard was so watery it was inedible. I guess you need to dine in to have decent food because the 4 times we have ordered delivery it's...
Read moreExcellent! Excellent! And Excellent! The food served here is simply amazing Chinese food. Just about every dish we've bought from Red Lantern has been hot and authentically flavorful and very generously portioned. They also cook super fast even when we order 5+ dinners to go. They respond well to modifications if you request any, so customer service is 5 stars on its own. Their prices are low for the current state of things/economy, so huge star for them in that regard. They also deliver quickly (internally without use of Uber, Doordash, Grubhub), and we typically get freebies with our purchases. On our last order, we received a whopping 3 free items and we're not talking about just little cookies or a couple dumplings - was a nice surprise. Last but not least, the consistency of this restaurant has been impeccable as we've eaten here for the past 7 years and have yet to receive a lunch or dinner we did not like. Do give Red...
