Will not be going back unless some major changes occur. We have been to this location several times in the past, last time was over the summer and things were fine. We were a party of 7 this time which included two teenagers and a four year old. We were told there would be a 20 to 25 minute wait; OK we had a bigger group so that was expected. I asked the hostess for a kids menu and crayons and was told that they were out of crayons, a bit odd but the attitude she gave when she told me was a bit more edgy than I thought necessary. I had a pen and we sat and began to entertain our 4 yr. old daughter. We got our table sooner than expected which was nice and our server was good with drink and appetizer orders. We had ordered a side of ranch for the appetizer that didn't come out until after the appetizer was eaten (not a huge deal but annoying). We made our entree order and it all went downhill from there. After 40 minutes our 4 year old was barely holding it together and then she started to fuss that her tummy hurt so we spoke to the manager asking when our food was coming out, he said he would check. A few minutes later our order came out MINUS the meal for our 4 year old daughter, we were told it would be another 8 minutes for that, seriously??? I didn't ask for it to come out first but it most certainly should not have been the last thing and not 8 minutes after everyone else was served. I have worked in my share of restaurants and the way things came out told me that the kitchen was the issue, the food was hot but the plates were cool so they didn't sit for long before being trayed and brought out. One of our party had ordered a standard calzone and it was missing one of the ingredients. The rest of the orders were correct. I went to talk to the manger about the wait on our daughters pizza and was told he was busy but our server said he would see what they could do. After 5 minutes of trying to convince my daughter to eat something that was on the table the manager brings us her pizza and apologized telling us there had been an incident with the other personal pizza we ordered and they had to remake it and they were trying to time the full order to deliver at once, umm ok but if that was really the case then how did everything but one of the pizzas make it out and why didn't anyone tell us the wait was going to be longer than normal? According to our server, he was never told there was an issue. I believe he wasn't, his level of service was fine. So after we get the kids pizza I am trying to cut it smaller and notice the dough was not cooked through on the top; it was actually raw and kind of cool in the center. The manager brought out a half cooked pizza, HALF cooked for a child. If I hadn't noticed she never would have and could have gotten very sick, there was chicken on that pizza (it looked cooked but...?) She was very upset when we sent it back and told her she would have to share with everyone else because we were leaving as soon as possible. The manger did comp part of our meal but he never did come out and say anything about the half cooked pizza. I have not had such a poor experience eating out in a...
Read moreI've eaten at this restaurant many times, 6/22/18 was the worst service and worst food, worst manager experience EVER! We arrived early evening 430pish, asked to be seated in West sunroom - no one was in there. A waitress was cleaning up a large empty table to our (12p). The hostess said our waitress would be with us shortly. 15 min later Christin took our drink and food order - diet Pepsi, iced tea, lg Stella, lg Bud light, 2- waters. Thin crust personal pizza, 3 ($5) pub pizzas, 2 salads, artichoke appetizer. 10 minutes later, We got the non-alcoholic drinks, finally additional 10 minutes later we got our beers. Another 10 min passed and Christin brought 3-salads, we had to ask for silverware & napkins.
In this time frame, hostess seated 2 tables to our 12 o'clock, booth 2p, & 4p, and table to our 6p. All different waitresses than ours. Most of them got their food and drinks before us! We we're there first! Mind you we still haven't received our artichoke appetizer, nor our pizzas. Christin came to our table to inform us that she neglected to turn in the appetizer order before the pizza, did we still want the appetizer? Yes! Another 15 min goes by (4pm booth got their pizza). Our pizzas arrive and they look COLD- No hot cheese, she says be careful plate is hot - BS! No cheese pull on the slice, I'm touching the pizza & plate all over. Christin offers to remake my food I'm thinking do I really want to wait another 35 min for a new pizza, my table mates convince me I'm over re-acting, I tell Christin I'll eat my cold pizza. I eat two slices cold congealed Pizza, I'm over it - I excuse myself to use the bathroom, run into Chistin complain about the pizza again - she re-heats my 2pcs pizza. Mind you we still haven't received appetizer! While I was in the bathroom Christin offered a dessert as compensation to my table mates. It was declined by my table mates - they are diabetics! Finally my 2 slices show up double plated by what seems to be a mgr bringing it, the pizza seems hot, no cheese pull, but it's at least hot. My friends are almost finished. Tables around us are finishing their food, if not getting ready to leave - we still haven't gotten appetizer! Our pizza plates are cleared, appetizer arrives - TELL ME is the Articoke Appetizer supposed to be HOT..????? Because it was COLD. Christin be thankful someone else paid for dinner, you should not have received $15 tip. You sucked, we got drinks 25-30 min after we arrived, the pizza was cold, the Articoke dip was cold, I was never offered dessert, nor or bill was not discounted. We live in Arvada, 10 min away, after arriving at 430pm I got home 730p - 3 hours later. To the Old Chicago management, you guys did terrible as well. No apology, no follow up, no how was your meal. WORST PART -- This was the third/fourth time we've been in that particular restaurant in last 45 days. I was the one that recommend going there for dinner! Not anymore. I know you have security camera in that area, or look at the TIME STAMP on our dinner ticket - $66+...
Read moreThe food was good ... enough. Let me explain.
I had a coupon for a free beer at Old Chicago. Not having been to one of these restaurants in multiple years I decided to go, have my beer and order a bite to eat. I sat in the bar area where I easily found a seat and a waitress came over to take my order. After showing her the coupon she said I could order anything with a specific designation.
No problem.
I then took a turn at the menu and decided on the Build Your Own Mac and Cheese. She asked me how I wanted it, yellow or white cheese. What was the difference, I asked.
"One's yellow and one's white," she told me.
Well, there are plenty of cheeses that are both yellow or white, so I asked again. She then informed me the yellow cheese was like Kraft cheese from their Mac and Cheese. So, I decided on the white cheese. I even decided to add some other ingredients.
And it was okay. I've had better Mac and Cheese made at home, but whatever.
What I really noticed was the lack of attention I received from the waitress. She asked me if I wanted another beer and when I said not yet she sort of disappeared. Sure, I still saw her bustling around, but she didn't swing by my table at all. Also, she didn't seem thrilled to be there.
That's when I started noticing other servers. None of them seemed to enjoy their jobs. Now, I'm not saying everyone needs a false smile on their face all day, but when your entire staff seems disgruntled you might want to ask management what they're doing wrong. I mean, it's not like it was exceptionally busy or I was being obtuse.
So, instead of having another beer I decided to pay and leave. I slipped my card into the little case with the tab and waited. Multiple times she walked by again, not.once asking if I was ready to pay. I finally had to tap it to let her know it was ready to go.
It just wasn't a great experience and I can't imagine why I would...
