I was there recently for a quick dinner and had a far better experience than my last ever time going to the Littleton location, who didnt care to respond to my concerns or complaints at all. Im assuming these are independently owned, if they are then whoever runs Littleton can learn a lot from Arvada, and if they arent then someone else needs to take over Littleton.
The staff was friendly from the start. They took my name and gave me a wait time, nothing terribly long for early evening. I was seated fairly quickly and didnt have to place my entire order ahead of time unlike Littleton, hint hint. The server Mary was very friendly and on top of things throughout my meal.
I got the cheese fries as I always do, with extra bacon that didnt seem all that extra, but theres never enough bacon for me. The fries were crisp and well cooked, good cheese coverage with very few uncovered fries. I was actually just about done with my fries when I ordered the Pick 3 meal for my entree which was brought with a refill on my drink without me asking, showing the staff's attentiveness, The ribs were perfect, the meat had plenty of flavor without having to add any sauce and not dry at all, it was tender and the bones were cleaned easily.
the sliced pork and beef were a little dry for my liking, but still flavorful and the sauces on the table brought something to them. Maybe ill try some different options next time just to mix things up but i would order them again. the beans had good flavor and are always a nice side option, the corn on the cob was corn on the cob, it tasted fresh and came in a nice littler pool of butter that helped to adhere a small sprinkling of salt everytime i went for a bite.
I had a little of everytihng left over that I took home and got eaten quickly. Im not in the area much, but next time I am I will definitely be back. Littleton needs to take some cues from this location on how to provide excellent service and serve...
Read moreThis is my husband and I's favorite spot to eat. We try to come every time were in CO since we live out of state. We were dining at this specific location on 5/25 for dinner. The staff and food was amazing as always! Our waitress was very kind and engaging. 10/10 will come back!
The one thing that set this experience was something that happened to both my husband and I when we used the restrooms. It wasn't that they were out of order or gross. The bathrooms are very well kept and clean. I went into the stall closest to the door and as I sat down I heard someone come in and say through the crack they went to the other stall. Or so I thought. The door closed and no one left or entered in that time. At the time I felt a bit unnerved which made no sense to be regarding the normal circumstances. When I went to wash my hand I noticed that I was the only person in the bathroom. Strange but ok not something to be too concerned over. I went to the table and for some reason felt compelled to tell my husband about the strange occurrence. The no nonsense kind of attitude my husband has about these types of things I thought he would laugh. He had went to the bathroom before I did and had said the same exact thing happened to him minutes before. Immediately i was like, huh???? how could that have happened to both of us within minutes. Idk maybe its nothing. LOL!
Now I'm not saying anyone did anything wrong nor am I upset. But being the skeptics we both are thought this was a strange and unexplainable event. Let me know if this is a normal occurrence or are am I just looking into this too much. Again, awesome restaurant and food! Thanks for the creepy...
Read moreWe've been to Rib City a number of times, and it's good. They can be very busy and it can be hard to get in, so obviously people like it. Everything we've had at Rib City has been good. Nothing has been great. Everything is relative and everything (to a point) is subjective, and in the restaurant world, BBQ is right up there along side of pizza for relativity and subjectivity. BBQ in general in Denver is fairly mediocre and Rib City measures up well against the local competition. But at the end of the day it's just not Texas BBQ. Or KC BBQ. Or Carolina BBQ.
Rib City is located far west, but access is good and there's plenty of parking. The dining room is pleasant - motif is "western," not unlike other chain or franchise BBQ outlets. The menu has the traditional assortment of ribs, smoked meats, sandwiches, salads and sides. Not surprisingly, if you're not into meat, Rib City probably isn't the place for you. We haven't had dessert at Rib City, but they look and sound good, and I've heard good reports. Prices are pretty average - 2 meat combo with 2 sides ($13.99), 3 meat combo ($15.99), full rack of baby backs ($15.99). Our service has always been friendly and attentive.
At the end of the day, here's how chain/franchise BBQ in Denver shakes down for me. Rib City, Brothers, Bennett's, Famous Dave's - they're all "good" - I like them all well enough. Rib City might be a small amount better than Brothers or Bennett's. I like Famous Dave's a little better than all of them. But that's my subjective opinion. I can/do go to all of them and enjoy them, but none of them are the real deal Texas, KC or...
