Sushi Aji — Restaurant in Arvada

I've ordered from this place 4 times through uber and everytime they messed up. They have failed to give the driver my entire order. God forbid you order a yakisoba and sushi...of course they put them in separate bags or they seem to maybe hold the sushi while the driver comes...regardles...I've had my order show up with either just my sushi or just my yakisoba...my orders are over 50 and 60 dollars everytime. I've called the restaurant asking why my order takes 45 mins plus to be prepared on a normal weeknight and I live 10 minutes from the restaurant. I used to think it was all ubers fault..as the uber drivers show up as men when their profile says they are women and this only happens in this area of arvada..I've never had this happen anywhere else. This restaurant should stop uber if the delivery guy shows up and he's not who he says but regardless I'm making this post mainly about the poor service of this restaurant and the fact they haven't given my entire order to the driver whether it's a unicorn or a skydiver who shows up...they obviously don't care. They hand half or 1/4 of my order to the wrong person who shows up and I loose...everytime. I've called and spoke to the store during orders and asked..do you see an order from Corey c from uber..is it ready?? Yes..ok, is my driver there...yes..ok and boon the driver shows up missing my order or twice they were lying and the order wasn't ready at all and there was no driver even there. I waited another hour for my food to show up cold and incorrect. Don't order from this place or this place needs to stick to in house only and stop running delivery orders because I've wasted over $400 on this pathetic place. Plenty of other quality sushi...

My wife and I had been going to this place nearly a year. Had a couple of minor hiccups here and there, but overall they were above average.

Last Thursday, we went in there for lunch. We were literally the only couple there. The service was surprisingly slow at every step. I understand the sushi takes time to be made. However, I waited at least five minutes for the check to be brought to us and after another five minutes of waiting, I had to go find her and remind her we were still there.

Regardless, I overlooked this as they're usually pretty good.

We went in for Valentines. It was extremely crowded which we expected so we were prepared to wait. It took about 30 mins for the table and another 40 until the food was brought.

That all would have been alright, except they only brought us two of our four rolls. I figured the other two were right behind. I was wrong. We watched them bring out at least four plates of sushi to other customers. When asking what happened, she just said sorry it's valentine's day.

They had four chefs working and in 40 minutes time they were only able to bring us half of our order.

I've been eating at various sushi restaurants all around the US for nearly 20 years. This has never happened to me anywhere before. Ever.

My wife and I love this place so I thought I should finally do a review. Sushi Aji is located in a very unassuming strip mall, but don’t let that dissuade you from giving this place a chance. The staff is extremely courteous and professional, and does a great job of anticipating your needs instead of reacting to your requests. The atmosphere is somewhat understated, but classy and you can see the sushi bar from most of the tables. We have tried everything from California rolls and spider rolls to the Bento lunchboxes, and even some udon noodle dishes. occasionally, I will even get a specialty role like the Playboy or the dragon roll ,all of which are delicious with a presentation that is wonderful and usually reserved for much more expensive sushi restaurants. They have a great selection of sake, and several Japanese beers that come in various sizes. To be truthful we usually get the less expensive hot sake because that’s actually what we enjoy the most, but have gotten other chilled sakes that were more expensive and also delicious. Overall, I think it is a good value for quality sushi and cocktails in an area of town that is relatively devoid of restaurants like this. Give Sushi Aji a try and you won’t be...
