My fiancee and I are having a wedding in Asheville in February of next year and wanted to host our rehearsal dinner in the arcade space. It seemed like the perfect venue for us. Good pizza and beer in a casual space to entertain our friends and family for the event. When we were last in town we visited and spoke to one of the bartenders who thought it would be a great idea. We were very excited to contact the event coordinator and start planning the event. However, once we reached out we were quickly disappointed. We were told the arcade could not be rented out. We were told that the only space would could reserve would be an outdoor picnic table to seat a maximum of 20 people. We were hoping to have 40-50 people of our friends and family for the dinner. We would of course be occupying the space, but would have been buying beer and pizza for everyone. No options were given. No flexibility. And remember, we were talking about a Friday in late February - I don't think this is exactly peak season. The experience speaking with the apparently new event coordinator was quite short and abrupt and unpleasant. Remember that quote at the beginning about accommodating groups as small as 10 or as large as 150? It would seem that is not true, and we will be forced to take our business for our...
Read moreThe food is great!! But the service on the other hand is awful. We were visiting from out of town and our friend suggested this place. You have to do EVERYTHING for yourself. You go in grab a menu, seat yourself, then when you decide what you want to eat you have to go to the bar to order. We spent $50 on two people just to serve ourselves and have the staff be rude to us. I’ve worked In food and bev before and I’ve never seen more awful service considering there’s not much for them to do. When we got our sweet teas they were not sweet at all. I thought it was unsweet tea. My boyfriend walked up to the bar just to ask if we could change out the drinks and the bartender had the nerve to look at the other bartender and said “look he’s trying to get free drinks.” Which in my opinion is VERY unprofessional in any type of work. That was not the only problem though with the sweet tea. The bartender walked over to the sweet tea put some in a shot glass and tasted it. He claimed he made it himself and he put a lot of sugar in it and after he tasted it said it was sweet. He then looked at my bf and said well it’s sweet idk what to tell you, but we have sugar in the kitchen if you want that. He refused to let us get a different type of drink. Even if we had to pay for another one we would not have been mad. It was just the principle of manners and respect. Which this company’s workers do not have. We were disrespected and talked to in an unprofessional way. If you like good food, but don’t mind terrible service I’d suggest this place. I won’t be coming again unless the workers learn how to treat...
Read moreI'm downgrading my review to 3 from 5 stars - the audio is just awful. The food is still good. The service is cheerful and helpful. Its pretty hard to find a comfortable seat that you can sit in for 2 hours. There's theater seats but they are the typical type that push your head forward while you are trying to look up to the screen. But the sound - not tuned to the room, boomy bass, muddy midtones, and confusing reverberations everywhere you sit. However, the management is sympathetic and they will cheerfully return your money. Previous Review: Asheville Pizza is just great! While the food is reliably good, the pizza dependable and the beer flowing, the best thing about this place is that it's bristling with good vibes and carefree atmosphere. The staff is cheerful and attentive do your needs and whims.
The screen is not that big and the sound is not that great but the experience of sitting in a comfortable chair watching some crazy movie while feasting on pizza and burgers and beer can't be beat.
The staff happily provided me with a closed caption device to make it a little easier to hear the dialogue in the new Bond movie, No Time to Die. The movie is just a run-of-the-mill high-tech snoozer but we didn't feel bad because we just had a nice evening out at a good restaurant.
Prices have gone up with the new policy of showing first-run movies so get ready to spend a few bucks. It's a great place to take your out of town friends to show them what...
