Read moreUGH. This hurts me to write because the service was awesome (if not a little pretentious, but how were they to know I wasn’t a tourist?). Seriously, though, the staff was VERY good 💕 But the reason for my low review isn’t flavor, but pricing! I’ve been in the service industry for years, and I’ve eaten at many of our upscale restaurants and I am not one to balk at a high price tag. HOWEVER. My first time here, I decided to get the lobster roll. And let me tell you, I was SO PUMPED. I LOVE lobster rolls and I was so excited to try one here. So it comes out, and I thought there was a mistake. This lobster roll was practically miniature. It looked tasty, but it was just so little! All the lobster rolls I’ve experienced have been overflowing with filling and more of a meal sized item. So I decided to just keep the size in mind and maybe order something different next time. I started eating, and I’ve gotta say I was shocked! The filling wasn’t filling the roll, but was balanced on top concealing a mostly empty mini roll 🤣. The lobster salad had good flavor, but it was a little dry, if I’m being honest. The roll was stale and crumbly. Maybe during busy times it’s difficult to close the bread bag properly, but it may make a difference. ALL this being said, this is an owner problem. If you force your kitchen to overly constrict portion sizing, you make it impossible for locals to take you seriously. This roll was $17, no side, no pickle, nothing else. All in all, I’d definitely go back for the burger, but I’ll forego the...
Read moreI normally don’t do reviews but I’m so disappointed in our lunch for the amount we paid including the tip for a total of $42.30. My husband and I came across this restaurant while visiting the art district. We liked the look of the menu for a quick lunch. We ordered the double cheeseburger and lamb gyro along with fries and hushpuppies. The burger had a good flavor but was rare and cold in the middle. I brought it to the staff’s attention and was told that is how they cook it. She described a slightly pink inside but it was rare. She did not offer to cook it to our liking. I did not see a sign on the chalkboard menu that said they served it rare. I could have overlooked it. It is online with an asterisk and description at bottom of online menu. If you like rare burgers then you will be very happy. I ordered the lamb gyro but got the falafel one instead. I didn’t return it since we were in a hurry. It was not my favorite sandwich since there was not much taste other than the tzatziki sauce. The hushpuppies were amazing and they did a great job with these. Wish I could give them a higher rating but based on our experience I feel a 2 out of 5 is fair. It seems like a great place and there were lots of customers and I wish the...
