Buffalo Wild Wings has always been the go-to place for amazing wings since I have ever recalled. However on this particular visit I was really surprised at how the wings were when they were delivered to my table. First off again this is not bashing All Buffalo Wild Wings businesses. I have been to several and all of them were spectacular. However on this occasion I am deeply disappointed. Upon the arrival of my wings to the table I noticed that the metal tray that the wings were on did not have a temperature at all. Also looking down at the wings the wings appeared to have been reheated more than once. Another thing that just took me to another level in disappointment was I touched the wings and I asked my fiance to touch them as well and the wings were ice cold. The sauce that were on the wings that I requested was extremely cold as well like it just came out of the refrigerator. Now mind you this was on a Friday afternoon and the restaurant did not have hardly any patrons. So with that being in my mind and also knowledgeable of cooking as I have been doing this profession for over 25 years that if you are in an establishment and there is hardly anyone there that there is no excuse for cold food. I repeat there is no excuse for cold food when there is hardly anyone in the restaurant. The host that we had was very kind and he apologized and took the wings back as I was just being calm because I know that the host has nothing to do with the meal preparation. As the host returned with my other wings I could not help but to test the wings again as I ordered a different wing ( I ordered plain wings and sauce on the side). As I obtained the silver tray with my food again the tray felt room temperature. And upon me touching the wings the wings were lukewarm. At this point I felt that I was not going to attempt to change my order again as I feel that this would only make me look like a total jerk. The host he was very professional and was apologizing so much that my fiance and I just said it will be okay and we just wanted to have sometime together and have our meal. All right Buffalo Wild Wings of Asheville North Carolina, this is a challenge. Go the extra mile when the restaurant has hardly any patrons as well as when the restaurant is full. let the food service staff know that nothing leaves the kitchen that is not exceptional. There is no gray area when it comes to customer service. I have been in this area for too many years and I know from experience that when you are serving the public you have to be on your a game no exceptions. I may have understood better if the restaurant was full and if it appeared they were understaffed. However I see that the restaurant was fully staffed and nobody was hardly there. So come on Buffalo Wild Wings of Asheville let's get that stellar food service out to the customers. Let's take a few minutes to make sure that everything that comes out of that kitchen is of the proper temperature. I do wish to revisit the restaurant again as this was the place that I met my amazing fiance. So do the right thing for your customers, your staff, and the brand of...
Read moreThis isn't the worst Buffalo Wild Wings I've been to. The worst was in Carbondale, Illinois but they were packed so at least that was a bit of an excuse. I stopped into the Tunnel Road location today and at 2:30 it was roughly 10% full. I sat down at the bar and there are some folks behind the bar milling around trying to sort something out. No one says high or even acknowledges me. Then they wandered away. So I sat and watched two complete commercial cycles on the football game so lets say 10 minutes. Nobody, nada, nothing. So I left.
This was my 4th time here and once it was good, twice it was meh, and today was the sign that coming back is a waste of time. As a company they've slid pretty drastically. Back in 1987 I worked at one of the very first BW-3s (that's what they were called) and while the wings were much smaller back then, the food was better across the board. Things are expensive these days so I take that into consideration in the number of stars given. If it was cheap I'd probably put 2-3 stars on it but it's not. Other places have much better wings, better service, and a better overall option for dining in nearly every way. There was a time I would have recommended stopping in and buying a bottle of sauce but the bean counters at corporate got a hold of the recipes and now they're just run of the mill gloop with no real character. And most of the time I go into one when travelling the cavernous stores are mostly empty. It destroys the vibe for the vast majority of the time when they're not busy. I can't imagine this location ever being busy.
They need a full reset. Dump the giant stores that feel like warehouses, go to counter service because clearly staffing is hell, and hire someone to redo the menu to make it worth spending one's money there. It's not worth it right now. The wings in the cold bar in the Ingles across the street are probably better for less than...
Read moreToday was the second consecutive visit where we've had to walk out without being served. The previous time was a few months ago I went with my daughter and her friend we got there it was not busy at all nobody waiting for tables we stood at the host station waiting for someone to seat us. Two employees were standing off in the distance talking and laughing with each other. I said hello to them and they just looked over and continued talking to each other so we left.
Reluctantly, I let my daughter talk me into trying again today and it was even worse. We arrived shortly afternoon but it was not busy when we arrived. We were seated right away they brought our drinks right away we ordered an appetizer that came pretty quickly then we waited for over a half an hour and still did not have our meal. We saw two tables come in after us that already had their food and were almost done. All that we ordered were a couple of plates of boneless wings so it's not like we had some massive order. Just about the time I was trying to ask the waitress to check on our food some other customer was having a meltdown over his wait. The waitress then cussed at both of us and walked off saying that she was effing leaving. Up until that moment the problem was not the waitress. The problem was the disorganization in the kitchen. When you've got the same number of people at two tables, it stands to reason that the one that was ordering first would get their food first. I went to see the manager to pay for our drinks and appetizer and he didn't really seem the least bit interested nor surprised. The other party left. We left. I will never return to this dump. It's dirty, run down, in dire need of renovation and New Management. The corporate office should fire the entire staff clean the place up and try harder. Otherwise, just lock the door and go home. Any business that's this...
