Update: Due to a gift card we decided to try this pace again. This time they were very nice and accommodating so I have changed my rating to a 4 :)
We ate here today for the second time and as one of the managers of an upscale French restaurant, I certainly don't expect the same customer service. However, I see that this new restaurant already has a 2.9 rating and more 1 star ratings than anything else.
I just wanted to give some advice to the manager. Let me tell you first of all that we love Panda Express food. When traveling, if we see one- we usually stop.
Today my son said he didn't want any sides, just the chicken and mushrooms in the kids meal. The new guy Axel gave him double portions in the kids meal and we happily went to the cash register. I got a bowl and my husband got a 3 entree meal.
When we got to the cash register, Angie R. opened the kids meal and said "we can't do that", walked over to the bowl and dumped half of the kids meal box, then said "he's new, we can't do that" referring to axel.
We said our son just didn't want noodles or rice, but she started closing the box. As if we were going to pay full price for half a kids meal! So we asked if we could go ahead and get a side anyway, since we are still paying full price. My happy son was now upset, because he just wanted chicken and mushrooms and watched them get dumped! It pretty much ruined dinner.
So here's the breakdown. That scoop of chicken and mushrooms probably cost you .75 cents. I payed $23 for my entire order. Business shouldn't be just about cost, the goal is to get loyal customers. The food was already in the box. You should have let it go and let the new nice guy know after we were not in front of you. You could have even just said " it's okay this time, but we don't usually do that, but enjoy :)"
I will not be coming back to this location as I've had a bad experience with the manager also, but I won't go into that here. So for that .75 cent portion you've lost multiple $23 or more sales and judging from this stores reviews you are losing far more.
I feel bad for whomever the owner is because their investment could have a higher return. You guys really need to work on customer service, just think about how many people look at these ratings and go somewhere else based on a well deserved 2.9 rating. I recommend you all watch Give'em the pickle by Bob...
Read moreOrdered online because I was in a hurry. When I walked in, I was greeted by someone cleaning. He probably was a manager. I walked to the online order pick-up spot. A worker couldn't understand what I was saying. I had to repeat myself 3 times. Ok, so maybe I wasn't clear. Then, after he did understand that I was there to pick up an online order, he told me their machine was down after looking at tickets in a machine that I later learned was the online order machine. He then told me that my order was probably sent to the mall. As I became increasingly aggravated, the nice man who greeted me came over and showed the cashier the tickets that he had already looked at. He told the cashier to go make my food. He finally brought me my food and then asked me for payment. When I said I paid online, he then said, "Oh yea, that is the whole purpose of ordering online." He apologized and said it was his first online order. Well ok so I didn't express my frustration with him. It, for sure, is management and training that needs some help. And I wasn't planning on reviewing my experience until then I tasted the food. Both entrees ordered didn't remotely taste like other panda expresses I have eaten in the past. I'm not sure the orange chicken wasn't some other type of chicken, and the honey shrimp just tasted like grease. The bottom of the container was covered with it. Probably will not return to this location. Was so excited when this location opened. Maybe they will train the employees, and things will improve. 5 years ago.. I am now updating my review from a 1 to a 5. This time, I ordered in the drive thru, and the food was amazing. Clearly, they got it together over...
Read moreThis location off tunnel road always has fresh food. The staff is always friendly and pleasant. I have been craving the orange chicken and have tried so many places but now I have found the place to go. I enjoyed the thickness of the tempura chicken here and the spring rolls were perfect. My wife ordered general chicken and I loved that too. Parking was very spacious and bathrooms are very clean with hand sanitizer. This spot is right up the road from my work place so I will frequent this location for lunch here. The prices are reasonable. They have a big dine in area. Great service, they were busy and still greeting every customer who walked in. The new crispy almond chicken was worth the wait. Cooks were trying their best to keep up with the demands of the customer's. They even asked my family and I if we needed help to feel free to ask them for anything. The clients were really friendly and they even had random calls from their security systems to check if they're ok. They are very kind and very nice! This location is probably the best one near the Asheville mall and trust me when I say this. The staff here very professional and treat every customer with respect! Not to mention their food is very delicious! 5 Stars, no doubt.I will be back!!!!! My new favorite place is New Panda it's very clean, the food well displayed, the staff wear masks are polite...
