Terrible customer service from manager John at the McKenna Rd location in Asheville. I brought in a backpack that was slightly used that had shredded around the zipper within 2 weeks of use. The backpack was $70 so we expected longer use from it. He said it was not able to resell it so he would not accept the return. He also said the store policy was within 30 days of purchase. The store website clearly says 90 days with 100% customer satisfaction. He continued to refuse return. I called Office Max customer service to help. After 2 representatives spoke with him asking him to return to backpack, he continued to say that he had the highest discretion and he would not return it. He said I could come back Monday to speak with the General store manager. I had to leave the store. The customer service team submitted a complaint about this manager. I am a business owner and I will never use this company again and i will be sure to spread the word. John was clearly flexing his authority in his store and not supporting the company policy listed in the website. Read moreI needed one lousy copy....this time. The young lady who usually works in the printing area was busiy with a customer. Some guy in a black Office Depot polo shirt asked if he culd help me. I said I needed a compy of a one page document. He pointed to the gal busy with the customers and said "She can help you with that." and walked away..Of course the problem the young woman was attending to required time. I left after about 10 minutes. He couldn't take two minutes to help one customer. Nope he (whoever he is) was too busy to help one custtomer for two minutes. Now that is custoer servce at its worst. They had no knowledge of their products and were unwilling to fix that deficit.
Not a single one of my questions was ever acknowledged, or answered without multiple reminders. And it was not a result of it being busy as I was the only customer in the entire store.
I had called ahead of time to ask if they had the products I wanted and I should have known then what I know now going into the store did not solve any of those problems.
I would suggest for anybody who wants printing or printing related services go somewhere else where they know what they're doing and are willing to help you achieve your goals and a willingness to treat you like you are a human...
