We love Cecilia’s. We have been coming since they opened, and prior to that, we had been frequenting their food truck. We were really hoping for something fabulous to come into the spot they now occupy, since it is so close to our home, and we were very happy to see Cecelia‘s not only arrive, but hoist a tent and be able to have outdoor dining to survive Covid. We have had many of the items on the menu, and especially love the mushroom crêpe, the French onion soup, and the tamales. We were there the other day, and really had a beautiful meal. See photos. My only complaint is that sometimes when we go, the food is excellent, and sometimes when we go, the crêpes don’t have as much stuffing. So it’s a little inconsistent. I love to take friends here, and tell them the crepes are wonderful, and bonus that they are gluten-free, and then sometimes the stuffing will not be particularly filling, and it’s a bit disappointing. But I’d say eight times out of 10, the food quality is excellent. Certainly a favorite lunch place of ours. My only suggestion would be to watch consistency, and make sure those crêpes are full and lovely, with lots of stuffing! Today’s visit was excellent! P.s. Don’t skip out on the French onion soup. It really is beautifully done! UPDATE: Had the Popeye and it had a lot of good spinach!

The experience of dining outside with the sun shining was fabulous. The patio is large, plenty of space, and the tables are cute. If they ever throw a block party style event here, it would be so cool, the location is perfect. Our waitress with the long feather earrings was a damn delight. She was friendly, attentive, and when there was an issue with receiving the wrong item, she resolved it beautifully, which I super appreciate. The niçoise salad my friend got was large and she seemed happy with it. The dressing we both got was incredible - some balsamic situation that was perfectly balanced. The sausage patty was well seasoned. The fruit in the fruit plate was fresh and flavorful. The beef in the carne empanada was well seasoned. Now for the less than stellar bits: The mushroom tamale was bizarre. The filling was underseasoned and contained roughly one and a half button mushrooms; the masa was bland and bordering on gummy. A bummer, because it came beautifully wrapped in the corn husk The breakfast potatoes were good, par boiled before making so they were cooked through and seasoned with a tasty rosemary blend. I wish they were a bit crispier. The food was solid, the mimosa was (properly) mostly champagne, the prices were reasonable, and the ambiance was sweet. I'd definitely come here again.

No rating on food only because we didn’t eat here. We stopped by Cecilia’s, looking for a drink at a Mom and Pop restaurant, on our way back to Asheville from Weaverville. The menu is an interesting fusion of French and Cuban. Plenty of crepes that looked amazing with Cuban classics. While I can’t speak to the food directly, I can comment on the service. Julia and Meg were truly delights! Meg was our main server - friendly, attentive, and so very kind, and Julia was just as friendly and welcoming, just did not have as much interaction with her as she was focused on her tables. I had a local beer and my wife had a white wine recommended by Meg. Both were delicious, so much so that my wife snapped a photo of the wine to keep an eye out. Turns out that particular wine was in the top 8% of white wines in the world. Not only is Meg an absolute delight, she also knows her wine. We also got to meet Cecilia, the restaurant’s namesake. A very kind woman whose passion for her restaurant is evident. Come check out the brick and mortar location or keep an eye out for their food truck in and around Asheville. Fun fact: Meg is in the picture. 😂

We arrived just before noon, only one other table ws occupied. We ordered right away, quietly chatting until we received our soup about 10 minutes later and then sat almost 45 mins waiting on crepes. Crepes take very little time to make. We didn't ask for anything special. Waitress never checked back with us at any time other than to pick up the empty soup bowl. No eye contact. She didn't ask us how we liked the soup or if we needed a coffee refill. It was as if we were invisible! Just swept up the soup bowl and walked away. While we waited the restaurant gradually filled up. When my husband told the waitress we were leaving she didn't say anything and just went up to the pickup counter with her back to us. No one tried to apologize or entice us to remain. No mention of our order. Needless to say we won't be back.

If you had to step out for an emergency your staff should have informed us so we as the customer could make a decision on waiting or leaving in a timely manner. You expected us to just wait around at your convenience? I am sorry about your emergency, but your staff did not handle it well. And maybe you could not get out from the kitchen fast enough to apologize but your waitress was standing right near the door. Really the best thing you could have done was just inform us as soon as you knew the meal would be delayed. That is the usual process in any business. I suggest you hire new people who care about...

Went to lunch on a Sunday and our waitress was very accommodating and her service was great. However, the food is not Argentinian food? Not sure what part of the menu is actually suppose to be Argentinian but the empanadas aren’t enough the classify it as stated. This was disheartening and made me wish I had gone to a different restaurant where I left happy with the dishes I ordered. I got the olive appetizer and while it did have everything as stated in the menu, serving kalamata olives that are already salty with over toasted, savory, crepe bread doesn't make for a good dish that also had no other color to it besides brown and purple. I got two empanadas for the rest of my meal and while the beef one was flavorful, the surrounding breading was too soft and doughy textured which also extended to the eggplant empanada. If the filling if soft, you want a crunchy texture to counter the filling but instead it was underdone and mushy which made it unappetizing to want to order again or finish eating. The best part of the meal was the little vinaigrette placed on a few leaves of arugula and spinach. I like to think maybe I got the wrong things on the menu but considering how my whole party of four was dissatisfied with our various meal options that included chicken empanadas and the tamales of chicken, it’s a bit sad. Wish I had read all the reviews instead of jumping the gun on this...
