Mosaic Café — Restaurant in Asheville

I stop into Mosaic Cafe a couple times a year for a chai latte. Today I stopped in because I had a birthday coupon for a dessert. I was going to get a muffin when the cashier “talked me into” a made in house, fresh danish. And let me tell you it was hands down the best danish I have ever had!! It is definitely one of those things I am going to think about and want again.

The only thing that would draw me in more is if the atmosphere was a little better for writing. It is such a small space and super busy at times that it isn’t conducive for that, for me personally, and since this is the main reason I go to coffee shops and cafes it is a deterrent for me. But during the summer I can happily get my chai (and hopefully now a danish) and go outside.

I am a flight attendant anytime I fly into Asheville I make sure Mosaic is my on my list of places to visit. My daughter drives over from Charlotte and this is our favorite spot to dine. Again, the food was superb but I was slightly disappointed this visit. My daughter ordered a turkey club and we paid for avocado to be added to the club. Upon receipt of our food the amount of avocado added to the sandwich was no bigger than a size of a quarter. I took the sandwich back in asking for additional avocado showing what was on the sandwich and in return was given another quarter sized amount of avocado. It was upsetting that I paid for avocado and was given such a small amount of avocado when paying so much for this add-on. Otherwise everything else was good as usual I do recommend the cinnamon...

The food is outstanding! I came back to this cafe twice within a few days of each other because the food was sooo delicious! The turkey bacon sandwich is a simple sandwich anyone can make but this was the best i've ever had & their housemade mayo was kick a**! So was their breakfast burrito, fruit was so fresh on the side & their bakery items they make especially the triple chocolate rasberry mini loaf was incredible! The iced chai was wayyyyyyy better than any starbucks & it came in one size which was bigger & tastier than any chai i've had before. The friendliest staff there & the prices are great especially for the food you get. Please make it a point to stop here for breakfast or lunch!!
