I always thought Biltmore Park Town Square looked too urban and filled with cement from the freeway as I drove by. But after living near by and constantly being in the Town Square, I know it as an enjoyable spot to stop in and enjoy a half a day, or just a meal. You can get out of your car and walk around - hats-off to Biltmore Farms LLC for a wonderful design, solid upkeep, and good selection and recruitment of stores. The restaurant selection is worth a few visits: A taste of local at Luella's BBQ or Mosaic Cafe; an expanded taste at BRIX or PF Changs. The Thirsty Monk maintains its tasting room and has an adjacent Tasty Greens so you can get a meal/salad bowl and enjoy the variety at Thirsty Monk while relaxing at their outdoor (or indoor) seating. And, there is a solid variety of shops to enjoy from Barnes & Noble, REI, a few women's clothing, and a Regal Biltmore Grand movie theatre that covers current releases with cushy seats and good popcorn (and drinks if you want them). For those that live nearby, there are also a sound suite of amenities in the Town Square that make standard task enjoyable - like places for haircut, a dentist,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe lack of character is deafening. And I know itās not in Asheville proper but it feels so much more like Florida to me. If itās a warm day thatās where I would think I was and thatās not a compliment. Itās not a place I would choose to go for a walk or browse shops. And definitely wouldnāt take my dog for a walk there. It just doesnāt seem dog friendly. The worst though is cars honking. I lived in Hawaii for 11 years and itās considered rude to honk unless it is a dire emergency. When I moved to Asheville it seemed honking was taboo there as well. ā¤ļø. But something about Towne Park and the people there-I feel like Iām in Naples Florida or some other overpopulated place in Florida in which people are always honking. Too bad as it is so close to me. There are a few decent restaurants. Nine Mile is actually one of my favorites but this location is just so boring. Hickory Tavern is fine. Luellaās used to be phenomenal but very inconsistent at this location. Iāll usually opt for 131 Main as the food is consistently wonderful as is the service. And usually easy to park in the garage. So 131 Main is the highlight...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went here in January with my son and his wife to see Mary Poppins Returns. We were surprised to find that all seats were reserved and we could only get seats on the very front row. If it wasn't for the fact that they had driven over just for the weekend and had been wanting to see the movie, we might not have stayed. My husband fell asleep since he had to lean back so far to see the screen and my daughter in law got a migraine from sitting so close. Looking around the theater, during the movie, showed lots of empty seats that we would have preferred, but didn't change to since we assumed they were reserved as well. Other than having to sit so close, the recliners were comfy and the theater was clean. We returned in June or July for a movie sponsored by AARP that didn't require reserved seats and enjoyed the movie seats better since we weren't so close...
