I recently had the pleasure of dining at Wild Ginger Noodle Bar located at 1950 Hendersonville Rd Ste 12, Asheville, NC 28803, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From start to finish, everything about this restaurant deserves a 5-star rating.
The food at Wild Ginger Noodle Bar is simply amazing. I had the pleasure of trying their Fried Vietnamese Egg Rolls (Chà Giò), which were filled with a delicious combination of jicama, carrots, pork, and bean thread noodles. The sweet chili sauce complemented the rolls perfectly. I also indulged in their Fresh Spring Rolls (Gỏi Cuố), filled with refreshing cucumber, mint, Thai basil, lettuce, rice noodles, and peanut sauce. The choice of pork and shrimp or veggie was a delightful option.
One of the highlights of my meal was the Chicken Pho Noodle Soup (Phở Gà). The broth was rich and flavorful, and the tender white chicken breast added a perfect touch. It was comforting and satisfying, just like a bowl of pho should be.
Another dish that stood out was the Vermicelli Rice Noodle Salad with pickled vegetables, shredded lettuce, fresh herbs, cucumber, bean sprouts, crispy shallots, peanuts, and an eggroll served with Nước Chấm. The combination of flavors and textures was simply divine.
To accompany my meal, I enjoyed some Hot Sake, which added a warm and delightful touch to the overall experience.
Not only was the food exceptional, but the customer service was also phenomenal. The owners, Aileen Tan (owner/chef) and Mary Ann Tan Ar (owner/operations), along with other family, truly go above and beyond to make every guest feel welcomed and valued. Their passion for their craft is evident in every aspect of the dining experience.
Wild Ginger Noodle Bar is a gem in Asheville, NC. The incredible food, phenomenal customer service, and the dedication of the owners make it a must-visit restaurant. I cannot recommend it enough. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by and indulge in the delectable offerings prepared by Aileen Tan...
Read moreWe had been wanting to try Wild Ginger after hearing terrific things about this restaurant.
The first thing I noticed was an expensive cotton candy machine. The machine makes your candy cloud right there and then and without a human flourish.
The second thing I noticed was a table that was equally sunny and awkward. If WG gets crowded, the two people at that table will have butts in their faces owned by people waiting for tables.
The third thing that I noticed is that the food at that table was barely eaten.
The aforementioned observations occurred within eighty seconds.
The server was nice, but rushed, therefore we could not get her attention easily and mistakes cannot be easily remedied. The table does not have salt. A salt request could take half an hour to be fulfilled.
The appetizer plates we were supplied with were dirty with dried food from previous eaters. We asked for more plates without saying out loud what the problem was. We were given one plate.
The woman next to us was told that her meal had been made with the sauce that she had requested to be omitted. She was not asked if she wanted it to be remade. And that was that.
The spring rolls were all cabbage with one spice- lemongrass. They were the tightest rolls that I have seen in a long time, so whoever makes them is an artist. I would love to see their blunts.
The fried rice was bland. The chicken katsu sandwich was good. The yakisoba noodles were OK and no more than that.
The bathroom was dirty. My co-patron said the uncleanliness of the establishment was unsettling.
The server suddenly paid attention to us when the bill was to be paid.
I am tiring of people without taste buds giving bad eateries props. Pandering younger sets capturing stunning Instagram shots do not have an...

We had a lovely dinner at Wild Ginger this weekend. The service was friendly and prompt, the food flavorful and moderately priced and the atmosphere pleasant and comfortable.
My companion and I shared the Vietnamese eggs rolls, crisp and tasty, and the Sui Mail dumplings as appetizers. We then shared the combination (pork belly and Vietnamese ham) Banh Mi sandwich with sweet potato fries (only $8.95) and the beef satay with rice as entrees. We didn't feel like pho this night, but those who had it around us seemed to be really enjoying it. We'll have one of the pho noodle soups next time.
I was glad to see that Wild Ginger has "33" (the export version) in bottles as one of its beers. I have fond memories of 33 and Tiger beer in Vietnam.
We're so glad that Asheville finally has a good Vietnamese spot -- not fancy, but with a friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices and a good selection of Vietnamese appetizers, pho, noodles and a few other dishes.
The owner, born in the Philippines, is super nice, with Personality Plus. It's no wonder this restaurant is popular. (We arrived early on a Friday evening and got a table immediately, but later in the evening the place was full with a few people waiting.)
Our dinner for two, with two appetizers, two entrees and two 33 beers each came to just $52 before tip. Very reasonable and well worth the money.
It's almost a half hour drive for us to go to Wild Ginger, but we'll make the trek frequently. This is fine little place, and I highly...
