Was looking for a great Pizza as my wife and I spent a long weekend in Asheville. Went online and found Fahrenheit Pizza and Brew with nothing but great things to say including a few accolades like Top Pizza place in North Carolina and a Top 100 in the country. These reviews are what got me in the place with so many places to choose from. Showed up and parking is a bit crazy between a limited amount, gravel lot, with a ton of Take Out traffic and a busy road out front but we were able to park across the street (not sure if allowed but saw many others do the same) and walk across. Entrance is on the backside of the restaurant and although the day was rainy and cold there is a wonderful outdoor space available with some covering with several people utilizing it despite the weather. I ordered the 12" Pizza (wood fired style here) 6 Buffalo Lemon Pepper wings and the Caesar salad. The salad came out first nothing fancy but good, then along came the wings and these were perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic. The pizza took a little longer than expected and the team brought us over a side of Garlic Knots entirely unsolicited and these were exceptional 6 Knots soaking in some Garlic Butter and some fresh parmesan sprinkled over the top. Then along came the pizza and although I was already feeling close to full I ate a few pieces and can honestly say this place lives up to the reviews. A couple of added touches I believe the owner stays all through the dining room greeting, checking on and even bussing tables to keep things moving. Although I didn't partake there are 12 local beers also available for self pours that seemed to also be a great attraction. I don't know how the system works but I will end that this place is...
Read moreThis is a very well hidden pizza place, but worth the search. First of all, the "wall of beer". You tell them how many pints you want (at $5.50 these pints are a steal). They load them onto a card and you pour your own. You do not have to have a full pint of one--you can pour smaller amounts and make your own sampler. I love the concept of pour your own, mix and match. What an awesome innovation.
Garlic knots were up first, and those were served hot and fresh. There was just the right amount of cheese, garlic, and butter to make these knots a wonderful beginning.
The pizza is a mix of brick oven and NY style. The pie comes out very hot, so let it cool some--or be stuck using utensils for the first slice. The sauce is properly balanced and the crust is charred a little, which is the norm for brick oven. Toppings were adequate and cheese was as well. We had the meats pizza, and the sauce and cheese balanced the spiciness of the pepperoni and sausage. The dough is slightly sweet and that matches up well with the brick oven char.
Service is excellent here. You do the ordering at the counter and you get your own beverages/beer, however, the staff will walk you through the beer wall process and are ever present walking around to make sure you are OK.
The scant negatives are that the place really is small, so there are fewer tables than the average pizza place. The location is hard to find, so GPS for the first time is a necessity.
This was definitely a 5 star pizza experience overall, and I am looking forward to visiting this...
Read moreVisit after a long, fun day with my husband and 2.toddlers. Walk in, told to grab a menu, have a seat, and come back and order. We are also told to check the board for their specials (2 one topping slices and a drink for 6 dollars or another option with a slice and a salad). Awesome. We sit down, decide what we want, I go to order, and I'm told (after being told to view the dry erase board for specials, and the only specials on their are the 2 options with sloces) that they dont sell slices on Sundays. Then why doesn't the menu say that? And why was I specifically told to view the dry erase board with the specials...which featured slices? Its then suggested that I order a separate pizza for my 2 toddlers... (and if you have toddlers, you know what a waste of money that would be 🙄)...then its suggested I order a large, and make it half for our toddlers, and a quarter for me and the other quarter for my husband....a lot of effort into other suggestions...when, instead, the menu needs to be updated and the specials need to be erased on Sundays if they aren't going to be honored.. We left. Not going to eat at a restaurant when weve started off on the wrong footnthis early on. Very disappointed. My suggestion I suppose is dont go on...
