Decided to give this a try given reviews . I placed an order on the web for pickup. After I placed order the pickup time was given to me via the server site they use . We initially showed up a 15min early figured I'd check to see if it was ready . It was not no big deal our given time was 559pm (I had placed the order just a little after 5pm). At 602p I checked in again still not ready . I asked the young guy behind the counter if he could give me a time frame . He was polite but stated they could not ? Not sure why when the site they use to take orders gives you a time. So after sitting in our car for 30 min I checked again . A rather rude woman who took the phone call seemed put off by my question when I asked if and when the order would be ready. Again I was told I couldn't be given a time ? I asked if our food had been made yet to which she said it had not .I informed the woman that I was sorry but I needed to cxl my order ( at this point I'd waited almost 40 min) I explained that I needed to go home and give a family member insulin . She then handed the phone to a gentleman who rudely answered yeah can I help you . I explained the situation yet again and informed him that I'd orded well over an hour and a half ago. I was given a set time for pick it was now 42 min past that and my order was not even made yet . So I wanted to cxl it . He told me there was only 2 orders left to be made and mine would be right up. Sadly while the food was good , not great and we drove over 20 min to try this I will let never go back . I get that it was busy and a Friday night but don't give me a pick up time and then make me wait over 40 minutes! Also how you present yourself on a phone call to a customer says a lot about your business. I'm sure this won't affect them and doubtful they will loose any customers but if you give a time for pick up make sure you honor it . I would have stayed at home and not had to worry about the family member that...

Ugly small place with BIG pride and inexplicable policy.

Being from the culture, I am pretty sure it's a Thai place disguising to offer Japanese ramen. But I had to admit I never had the chance enjoying their food. Why? -"We cannot serve you"

It's sad and unfortunate that the COVID-19 situation has put a lot of (great) restaurants out of business, however obviously this place is not one of them. Instead, they are doing too well that they feel they can make up any rules or just drive you out.

I called them ahead of time asking if they have outdoor tables. They did. And they offered for reservation, which i would love to. However it MUST be done through Yelp, and cannot be over the phone. Guess what? I was driving so I cannot go to Yelp. "it doesn't look too bad today and we can see to fit you if you arrive". Sure, it was only Thursday.

I showed up with my wife and our toddler girl. There was one table available, but we were told it was reserved. Noticing there were other customers finishing up, I asked if we could wait for them. They agreed. So we stood on the curb outside and waited. It turned out that there were two tables becoming available, plus the one that was already empty, that was 3 tables -they have about 6 -7 tables in total outside.

While one table was being cleaned, the other table's customers were leaving, yet nobody else was showing up, we asked if we could sit at the empty table so to put our toddler down because there was quite some traffic near their curb. Before the young waiter could answer, a bossy lady came out and announced "We cannot serve you. Those tables are reserved."

No greetings, no pity, not alternative solutions. Just that in your face.

Oh wow, I am sorry that I was trying to be your paying customer.

Avoid this place, go to the pizzeria in your town so they stay in business to feed their kids. This place...

As an asian, I feel disappointed. This is the most white washed restaurant I’ve been to. The restaurant claims to aim for “authenticity” - but it’s the most tryhard, LEAST japanese or asian restaurant.

I get it, I’m not the target audience. I’ve been to plenty of asian and japanese authentic restaurants and this restaurant absolutely does not perform up to “authenticity” standards.

Decor /restaurant atmosphere: 2/10. It’s pretty clean, but way too small and makes me feel claustrophobic. Also, they’re playing Japanese music in the bathrooms and putting decor, (but the japanese music sucks) and overall it looks like you went to a thrift shop, bought 5 random items and placed them in the restaurant. The restaurant is filled with frames of “japanese foods” that are stock photos from the internet.

food - negative 100000/10. this is the most disgusting ramen i’ve ever had in my entire life and i’m not even a picky eater. i asked the waitress “is this soup salty”? she told me it was barely salty, so i ordered it (the tantan ramen) because it claimed to have “creamy broth”

i ate instant noodles (bowl noodle soup) the day before, and the broth looked the exact same. cheap, disgusting, watery and INCREDIBLY, ASTRONOMICALLY salty broth. the waitress either lied to me or doesn’t know what the definition of salty means.

i swear, this ramen tasted exactly like those frozen japanese ramens where you pour boiled water, wait five minutes and eat it. but even that tastes significantly better than what they served me.

price: 1/10. are you kidding me, 17.95 USD for this trash? that’s like over 20 canadian dollars. Why would people spend money on this white-washed, overpriced food? I swear this restaurant brainwashes people.

I’m extremely...

UPDATE OCT 2020: COVID hasn't fared well for this spot. We've consistently run into issues trying to order food here several hours before they are supposed to close. They either run out of food, or just stop taking orders an hour or more before closing. Yesterday, we drove by around 6 pm with the plan of ordering food for dinner and they were not open at all (supposed to be open until 8 pm). Additionally, over the summer we overheard one of the waitresses being rude to a recently sat table rushing them to order because they were closing soon. Now that we are living in a world where COVID is normal, restaurants who can't figure out how to operate and serve their customers respectfully will not retain their loyal base. Plan accordingly if you plan to come here because there's a chance their won't be open at all. Disappointing because we really enjoy their food. *** We've been here a handful of times since they've opened, and they continue to improve and impress us. They've expanded their menu quite a bit, and everything we've ordered here is delicious. My favorite noodle soup is the Yum Yum - it's a nice balance of spicy and sweet. The noodles are cooked perfectly, the pork is moist, and the sprouts are great. I love that they now have an extensive tea menu. Other things we like: chicken wings, gyoza (they fry them the RIGHT way, crunchy all the way around), Takoyaki. They've expanded their seating by putting a high-top counter with stools along the front wall. They are always busy, but the service is on point. The owner is always out there working and talking to the customers.

This is a relatively new restaurant in Ashland.I started going here right when they opened and I have to say they were definitely above average for the food category. As with all new restaurants I like to give them time to get up and running and develop their menu. This place has not disappointed as it continually gets better with a constantly evolving and improving menu. My favorite items on the menu: -The teriyaki chicken wings. As with all the chicken wings on the menu they are well cooked and very crispy. This just happens to be my favorite seasoning. -There is a Japanese octopus ball appetizer that is both unique and fantastic tasting. Apparently a common Street food in Japan but something I haven't seen before on any menu. - The yum yum noodle soup is my favorite soup to date. The broth is absolutely delicious. One of the things they've improved over time is cooking the pork perfectly so that it is not dry and maintains all it's flavor. Again the menu is large with a very wide variety of options. I have yet to try it all even when trying to taste of others orders. A lot of specialty drinks including bubble teas. It is a small restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. The owner frequently comes out checking to see if everybody is enjoying their food. Clearly somebody who cares about the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen and the satisfaction of his customers. This place is a great addition to the local food scene and I'm excited to see how it continues to introduce us to various Asian cuisines. Highly recommend!

Normally I have to venture to the Boston area, Worcester, or Providence to find quality ramen, so I was beyond delighted to hear about Doragon Ramen in the MA suburbs a few months ago! While it took me a while to make it to their spot in Ashland, I’ve traveled back twice within a month since trying my first bowl of ramen! First, I’ll say they have a fantastic tea selection—I can’t say I’ve been to ramen spot in New England with more to choose from! This includes both hot tea and boba tea. I’m slowly but surely making my way through their spicy black teas. They have a Saigon black tea with cardamom that was lovely. For ramen, I’ve had both the Doragon Miso Hellfire (Vegetarian prep) and the always-vegetarian tomato broth. The tomato broth is an interesting twist from traditional ramen — you get a giant Parmesan cheese crisp to snack on and dip into your tomato broth. It’s giving grilled cheese meets ramen! I may be alone in saying this, but the Miso Hellfire wasn’t spicy enough for me. I’d still get it again, but I’d probably add more spice for an extra punch. On both visits I would say ramen noodles themselves could be chewier. I’m not sure if it’s the noodle itself or the cooking time? In any case it’s not going to stop me from going back and trying as many of their vegetarian-friendly bowls as I can! Pro Tip: For each weekend visit we arrived about 45 minutes into when they open. This seems to be the sweet spot for timing! You may have to wait a while if you get there at peak dinner time because the seating is limited.
