Marathon Deli — Restaurant in Ashland

My wife and I moved to Ashland three years ago and at first my first experience with Doug one of the owners Doug I asked him everybody’s name because I like to be sociable. He says you don’t need to know our names so after that, I thought he was a jerk! I met his partner, Jimmy, who is dynamite and still is to this day. Well, my wife and I fell in love with the food now on top of it we had a chance to get to know duck according to his partner, Jimmy Doug has a drive since of humor. Well, I can see that! Now seriously I like to joke around a lot and when my wife, when I go in to the restaurant to get something to eat we love to go here because they’re only two restaurants in Ashland that my wife and I love going to that’s this one here and I also tomorrow’s breakfast. These are the best two restaurants in the town in my opinion. The food is superb. Being a veteran and serving overseas. I do appreciate every single day that I do have in life. I don’t always like to be serious. I got to know Jimmy and Doug first of all my nickname for Doug is Mr. Tubby. Jimmy is Mr. macho man he reminds me of Randy Savage macho man from the 80s wrestling the WWF! He acts like macho man. Doug on the other hand, his name with me is Mr. Tubby. Doug goes out of his way to treat my wife and I with the upmost respect. One day his family came in his wife Meg and his daughter now Doug did not have to introduce us to them, but he did. Jimmy is the same way Jimmy said to me with the chief of police he talks a lot now Jimmy was kidding around. She was very nice no questions to ask? Doug and Jim seriously are good people they go out of their way for their customers. Now when Paula and I go into the restaurant to go eat it’s nice that we’re Doug Jim and I can really tease each other and it’s all in fun. These two men are very down to earth and also very sincere. Also, Carlos and also Ari, who works there behind the counter. Those two are also very nice. My wife and I truly enjoy going into the restaurant and having fun as well as eating because Doug and Jimmy and I will constantly tease each other and that’s the way it should be. They don’t get offended easily and neither do I. We have a lot of respect for these people. They have a lot of respect for us. We like these people a lot as well as the food, but especially the owners. We really liked them. They made that very well clear to us the same thing they tell us they really like us and it’s not just because we go in there and spend money. It’s because the way we treat them and they mean that so if you’re looking for a good restaurant if you’re looking for a place that have a good meal and also where you can be very real and also the owners of the restaurant are very real. This is the place to go because we know they put they’re hot and soul and making a good business for a customers. They treat everybody the way they wanna be treated and that’s why we love it there. We are moving to Milford in a few weeks and we’re still gonna come back and that’s not a threat Tubby that’s a promise lol I’m I’m kidding around with Doug. I love Doug and I also love Kimmy. They’re great guys. One more thing Doug‘s wife she is a real sweetheart. She sat down with Paula and I and we talked for a while. No she did not have to do that and she did. My wife and I went in there on a Saturday and we fell in love with the place because the food is dynamite the service with dynamite, including the atmosphere. I can tell you there’s some good people that work there Jimmy is dynamite Carlos we have met is phenomenal in the young woman that works behind the counter. She’s always smiling. I don’t know her name but I can tell you right now. She’s very friendly. I also like it because I like to be friendly because I believe in that that’s the way I was raised well you got the same feeling back from Jimmy and Carlos. When we come in, they’ll say hello Bob and also kid around with us. I’m gonna tell you right now. The food is fantastic. I ended up ordering American shop. One day and boy was a good. The meatloaf is also very good. Everything they make there is delicious. It’s considered by my wife and I our favorite restaurant for lunch and supper right now including Framingham . We love the food and we also like going there a few times a week to eat you will not regret it if you go there you wanna go back. The prices are exceptionally decent for what you spend there. You get your money’s worth you also cannot beat the customer service there either. I consider it one of the best around in the metro area. Easily the only place in Ashland to go if you want sandwiches, wraps, or subs. Don't even think twice about any of the other mostly washed up obsolete places in that downtown area. They do higher end sandwiches here and have a ton of specialty wraps and subs. It offers a way better alternative to the forgettable any-town pizza shop, thrown together "subs," that have literally not changed recipe or appearance for at least twenty years that I can remember. This place doesn't do that at all. Never had anything here I didn't like. The front counter and kitchen staff don't play around with small talk or jokes, preferring to stick to a traditional deli style of moving the lines and getting people in and out of the way. But I'm cool with that as I don't go there for hugs, I go there cause they have the best sandwiches by far in that town and will get you eating before you even know where to stand so you're not in the way of their system, nothing around can...
