Hibachi Express & Poke Bowl — Restaurant in Ashland

I had the Hibachi Chicken for lunch and it was as good or better as any I have eaten. There was enough to share, or in my case to take to the hotel for another meal. In the picture, yummy veggies are hiding under the chicken. Friendly service from the manager (perhaps owner). You order at the counter and they yell out your name to pick it up (welcome to a small, southern town!). Dine in is very informal (chose a table, grab your drink and utensils, have a seat) or you can carry out. This is directly behind the Delta hotel so don't miss having a meal here while at the hotel (lots lots better than the hotel restaurant, which I only recommend...

In town visiting, decided to try this place out. Like another post said, nothing labeled 'spicy' is spicy. However, the chicken and steak were super tender! The lo mein noodles did seem more oily than any other time from other restaurants--but not a deal breaker. They are skimpy on rice in the poke bowls, but otherwise a decent choice. The staff was lackluster at best. No enthusiasm or any sign that they appreciated your patronage. It actually felt a bit uncomfortable. Maybe it's a cultural thing in this area?! This was my first time here. I enjoyed the simple but positive awsthetic of the lobby. They had several plants and bamboo displayed. The ceiling were actually very pretty as well! If you go, you will know what mean 😉.

I ordered the veggie lover bowl with raw spicy tuna. The worker forgot about my order so I sat in the lobby for about 20 minutes before she noticed. She was apologetic and I could tell she felt bad about forgetting my order.
