We usually pick RL every chance we get because we love their buttery garlic biscuits and their service is usually the best, however this past Friday night my husband and I were there and their service sucked. The waitress must have had a bad day or something because when we were ordering our food she told us we couldn't substitute and if we did it would cost more. We told her we didn't care how much the up-charge was and then she proceeded to let us that we couldn't get what we wanted because of the portion sizes. It didn't make sense. 1st we could but we were going to have an up-charge and then we couldn't because of the portion sizes.... It wasn't enough that she told us we couldn't get what we wanted as she was walking away my husband and were talking and she turned around she raised her voice at us like we were deaf or something letting us know that there is NO WAY of us getting what we wanted... at this point everyone's staring at us... and she walks away. A couple of mins go by and we ask another waiter if he could please get us our check he asks if everything is okay we tell him no and that we want our check, not even 2 mins go by and our waitress is at our table dropping of an appetizer we ordered, at this time i tell her i would like my bill as we would like to pay for the beverages we were drinking the waitress tell us that she can get us the bill but she would have to ask about the appetizer at this point i snap and tell her IM NOT PAYING FOR the APPETIZER WE HAVEN'T TOUCHED!!!! I NEED MY BILL NOW!!! and then a manager was paged. Mike, Mike's a really nice guy, we've actually chit chatted about how great the service and food have been in the past. We explained what happened and at first backed up his waitress and then continued to apologize for her yelling at us. In the end he said we didn't have to pay for our drinks and that we should eat the appetizer, but we couldn't, why?!?!? Because it was embarrassing enough to have everyone staring at us due to the waitress yelling and then having her and all her coworkers stare at us the whole time. Mike also gave us $20 worth of gift-cards to use with our next meal... $20.... When we usually drop $125-$150 every time. Not sure if we will use the $20 or not, just wanted to say that it was the worse customer service...
Read moreThe Green Bay location is the best example as to why the chain has filed for bankruptcy. It is beyond logic how the management was chosen for this location, and I am surprised they are still open. We have a big problem in this country when a form of payment listed on their website, is now unavailable according to staff, and as the customer attempts to move funds to a now acceptable form of payment, is met by management and approached as a criminal act taking place. Leading to the police being called to the restaurant. Customer having difficulty with money transfer between institutions with evidence of funds available, and needing to do this because the restaurant not honoring a form of payment stated on their website. The restaurant should have paid for this customer's meal! What is worse is the customer had $30 in cash for a $36 bill, and management denied this as well. The customer became obviously agitated for the treatment he was receiving, leading to the police arriving on scene. Customer was detained in a police car over this episode of trying to pay for his meal!!! Management needs to be held accountable. The customer never denied his bill, nor did he attempt to leave without paying his bill. This was management creating chaos, and not taking responsibility for the restaurant not honoring what their store advertises as a form of payment no longer being available, presenting false info to the police leading to the customer being detained without just cause and accused of fraud. Legal action should be pursued, and management termination should be demanded. That is unacceptable what took place at this location, and the new CEO will be notified of this event. With recent bankruptcy filings, Red Lobster is barely hanging on, and this event is an example of why. Poor management training and likely poor hiring of incompetent people who take no responsibility, accusatory, and chaos creating victim mindset, will likely end the Red Lobster restaurant chain. Appalling what took place...
Read moreIt had been some time since we went to Red Lobster and it's quite different now. There were far more selections that had nothing to do with the old menu and lobster is definitely out of my price range now. We had two appetizers- Dragon Broccoli and some shrimp dish. The broccoli was still "lively" fresh and the Dragon sauce was a nice addition. I'd have that again. The shrimp dish was "meh" - warmish, damp shrimp with no particular flavor or attraction. The salads had been prepared sometime this week since they weren't terribly fresh. It was simply chopped greens- no carrots, tomato, peppers- just greens. We chose the New England clam chowder for our soup. It had a lot a clams- nice surprise- but it was as thick as Elmer's glue and flavorless . The cheddar Bay biscuits were always like carbohydrate crack- crispy, buttery, savory. These were doughy and quite flavorless. My spouse had the coconut shrimp- always a favorite. It was crispy and fresh from the fryer and the pineapple sauce was delicious in accompaniment. My only suggestion would be to cut the pineapple a bit smaller to make it easier to get it on the shrimp with the sauce. I had the soy maple salmon and it didn't taste like either one of those things. It was a desecration of a perfectly good salmon fillet. Not worth the up charge. Our Wednesday 4 course special ended with a brownie sundae. It was a tasty finish to a disappointing meal. I brought home the baked potato and broccoli to repurpose for tomorrow's dinner. Our server was kind, helpful and pleasant and refilled our drinks promptly. She helped to elevate this disappointing dinner to a better experience than it...
