If you're staying because you think it's a high-end hotel, you'll be disappointed. If you're staying because you're heading to a game and can stumble back post game, it's nice. It's convenient that it's right across the street from Lambeau, but it's more of just a tick above-average hotel that's trying to portray itself as a 5-star. Service was ok. Waited in our car for 20 minutes to unload our vehicle and for the valet, but there were only two other cars in front of us. It was on a Friday at check-in (4:00pm) and there was only one valet working. We had an SUV full of stuff or I wouldn't have worried about it and just unpacked myself, but I finally walked in to just check-in to get my family in the room and get a cart to load up myself when I saw the valet was just hanging out. By this time there were now 5-6 cars outside that were also filling up the far left, "passing through" lane, and I let him know he's got quite a mess outside. Finally got checked in and I liked the security card-required elevators, which are common at nicer Marriotts. The room was decent. Nothing special, but I can see how people over-inflate them because it's a new hotel. The bathroom was really, really nice (modern shower, toilet, etc with Ann Sacks tile) and the decor was great (Packer legends with brief bios/stories). You're paying for location so for the convenience of walking to a game, it may be worth it, but definitely not if you're there during the offseason. Ordered room service and the food was below-average for the cost. I'm a platinum elite Marriott member with over 2000 Marriott nights so I order room service often, but I'm usually by myself for work (this was a family trip). We also purchased a moderate quality $60 bottle of champagne, which the room service attendant opened in our room. The bottle blew out on her and a large portion of the bottle exploded on the carpet and my daughter. Accidents happen so no big deal, but I was disappointed when she said she'd replace it and she came back with a single glass of champagne to make up for the bubbly that spilled all over the floor and my kid. Beds were stiff, which I like so no complaints there, but just an FYI if you like your beds soft. My wife went to the spa for a massage and facial, which she said was just ok. She asked her attendant how she was doing after the greeting and she said, "It's been a really long day and I'm ready to get out of here," which isn't really what my wife wanted to hear, especially for what we were paying for it. My wife said the massage and facial pretty much matched that sentiment. The hotel has a cafe downstairs so we tried that after our room service experience and it was fine. For those business travelers, it had the feel of just a regular full-service Marriott trying to portray itself as a JW or Autograph Collection, which it is far from. The JW and AC Marriott properties go out of their way to make you feel like you're at a big-league hotel. I have absolutely no issue paying for nice things whatsoever, but I don't like to feel like I'm being nickeled and dimed, which is what I felt like here. Overall, it was just alright and very...
Read moreMy new favorite Kohler property! I loved the "casual elegance" of the Lodge. The contemporary industrial design makes the ambience modern but cozy. The fireplaces in the lobby are beautiful!
It felt like every need we could have had was anticipated.
We enjoyed time at the spa, Leaps & Bounds cafe and Tavern in the Sky. It was perfect for a girls weekend away! Check-in was a cinch. The staff promptly greeted us upon arrival and already had our bill split for each of us staying in the room (vs. Having to manage that between us on the side).
We had 3 standard double bed rooms. The rooms are immaculate. Thoughtfully designed with space, storage and comfort. The rooms include a Keurig coffee machine, elegant glassware, a large flat screen TV and the coolest "iPad" device that allows you to order room service, request MANY complimentary items, schedule shuttles and browse the web. Loved that it was customized with my name on it. I do wish the double bed rooms were Queen beds but full were manageable. Firm but comfy!
It goes without saying that the bathroom was amazing! Beautiful fixtures with a large double sink vanity. A Kohler DTV shower controlled 2 showerheads and a handshower in a walk-in shower. The only downside is the shower door glass was clear. It prevented privacy for someone to shower and someone else to get ready at the vanity.
The spa was relaxing and amazing. We were politely greeted and directed to the locker rooms. With a large group, we quickly filled the locker room space. It had every "extra" we could have forgotten: shower gel, hair products, etc. The respite and quiet rooms are calming! I love the dark, silent room for relaxing post-service. I had the Woodsman massage; Monica was AMAZING and personable!
Dennise at Tavern in the Sky was awesome! Request her if you can! She was super helpful and added a flair of fun to our Friday evening. The wings were amazing and certainly jumbo! 6 was plenty/person as a dinner choice. I love the Real Mojito on the signature cocktail Menu! Great live music and dancing both the nights. Both the Tavern & Cafe had gluten-free options and were customizable to be so; unlike other Kohler restaurants, a separate menu was not available though. Very knowledgeable associates were able to help.
Other random pluses: Mike, our shuttle driver, was AWESOME! Prompt, polite, helpful and funny! The General Manager, Christine, went above and beyond to make us feel pampered and as if every guest was the most important guest! Lambeau and Hinterland are...right...next...door! Very close to the highway and other Green Bay attractions (shuttle is available everywhere!).
All in all, EXCELLENT weekend at Lodge Kohler!...
Read moreA Mixed Experience – Some High Points, but Ultimately Disappointed
I may have gone in with high expectations, but my recent stay at the Kohler Lodge in Green Bay left me feeling underwhelmed—especially considering this was a special occasion getaway with my girlfriend.
The Positives: The location is hard to beat—conveniently situated right next to Lambeau Field. The staff was consistently friendly and accommodating, and the chocolate treats waiting in the room were a thoughtful touch. The shower itself was excellent and provided a spa-like experience—though it loses some charm once you step out.
Room Comfort: The bed was average at best; for some reason, it felt as though it was sloped, creating an odd sensation of sliding downhill. The television was fairly standard, with nothing particularly notable.
Areas of Disappointment: One of the biggest letdowns was the hot tub. After a nice dinner, we were looking forward to a relaxing soak, only to find out it closes at 8 p.m. Access to the hot tub and sauna facilities is available—but only for an additional $150 fee. While this was noted online, it’s easy to overlook, and disappointing for a premium property.
There were also some maintenance issues: the trim on the bathroom door was coming loose, and the shower door didn’t effectively keep water contained—something to watch for if you're walking in with socks. While the restaurant provided a nice dining experience, the menu was on the expensive side with few affordable options for dinner—lunch may offer better value.
A glance up at the stunning ceiling architecture revealed some wear and tear, detracting from an otherwise impressive feature. Lastly, while complimentary e-bikes are a nice perk, they’re apparently unavailable until May—unfortunate for guests visiting in early spring.
Final Thoughts: There are certainly highlights at the Kohler Lodge—especially in terms of location, service, and some luxury touches. However, given the price point and the reputation, I expected a more polished and complete experience. Some operational improvements and clearer communication around amenities could go a long way.
