Awesome Mexican food. We loved AJ's and were sad to see it was no longer around, but when I read some of the reviews (and saw the pics of the food) of the new place, we just had to try it on our way back from Pismo Beach to the Bay Area. It was just as good, probably even better! I had a carnitas torta, which was delicious -- tender flavorful pork, creamy queso fresco, and an amazing bun. Daughter got a breakfast sandwich with bacon and hash browns, and wife got the chicken breakfast plate, both good. We got a big basket of complimentary tortilla chips with homemade salsa to start with. Lots of outdoor seating. Service is really friendly and cheerful. We'll definitely stop by the next time we road trip down south!

Had the amazing Torta Cubana with chips and salsa!! The torta had steak, chorizo, ham, sausage, egg avocado, mozzarella cheese, grilled onions, jalapenos, and a wonderful house sauce. Very filling and delicious combination of ingredients. The chips were thin and crispy, and the authentic salsa was so fabulous that we had to have more. Felt very well attended too. Would highly recommend!!

If you haven't been, check it out! If you haven't been recently then come on back, they have revamped their menu and given their restaurant a whole new brand. They are doing their own thing and I can dig it!

Roadside fruit and vegetable stand managed by personable gentleman. He explained and demonstrated how to eat fruits I didn't recognize right away. Malu's kitchen was also on this tidy strip of South California. The woman who provided service inside the small, little restaurant and tiny gift shop proficiently took our orders and while man cooked them. Best orange juice I have ever had while my best friend traveling partner and I yummed down vegetable omelet, egg and bacon sandwich both with hash browns and horchata, a rice drink. Brought us to our knees. Thank you Malu may you...

Went to yelp , found malus had high reviews , asked what people like the most and gets ordered most , waitress was super nice , said that people really like the cubano torta , I ordered that , the chilechiles, the albondigas, the chile relleno , and the tamale ,— it was the best I had in each category , the Mexican rice was PERFECT , the salsa options were PERFECT the spicy was REALLY spicy but not overkill , be careful , this is the type of food that you keep eating even after you’re full , 10 out of 10 , incredibly authentic...
