Having lived in Korea 1-1/2years, was excited to eat here but lived on the opposite side of houston like 50 miles away one-way. Finally made it here, greeted them in Korean and spoke Korean whoever I could and the owners responded in English, but spoke Korean amongst themselves about my dog very uncomfortable for everyone (he has his labeled vest on). The black noodle had so little sauce I considered asking for more but I already asked for the meat on the side since it was the same price as the veggie black noodle. The husband owner asked if it was for me or my dog and I said, “it shouldn’t matter.” He said “yes it matters” but in his defense I think he was trying to figure out to give chicken with or without sauce/marinade, but that wasn’t communicated. The wife brought out the chicken and wasn’t rude about it but how they had a full convo in Korean about it was uncomfortable since they already weren’t keen on my dog being there (expressed by action not word). A couple that were regulars came in and the husband owner danced all around them, constantly visiting their table every few minutes so they couldn’t have a romantic dinner while they didn’t have the kids. It was cringeworthy to watch and also reiterated how poorly I was being treated for having my service dog with me. I’ll fly to Korea for real black noodles before stepping foot in this pace again. Total disappointment after 7 months of...
Read moreThis was our favorite Korean restaurant until tonight. We are regular customers mostly for delivery, but today I decided to dine in w my 2 kids. I have my reasons why I didn't tip this time, so I paid and left, but as we were walking towards our car the owner or manager, I don't know what he is, chased us down the parking lot visibly mad and demanding a tip! He flapped the receipt at me and asked if I didn't read that it says I HAVE to tip (it says "suggested" not mandatory.) He told me to not come back if I wasn't gonna tip. Startled I said "ok, I'm a regular customer but if you don't want me to come back because I didn't tip and ur not even asking me why that's ok. I won't." Then he asked me why I didn't tip and when I told him his demeanor changed, but no apology or anything, and he just said "ok you tip next time." Uum no, there won't be a next time because I don't appreciate being harassed down the parking lot for extra money this way. Chasing me down demanding a tip is already bad enough let alone not even asking why I didn't leave one (til i mentioned it.) That speaks volumes about how all you care about is money and not the service you provide. Very rude and unacceptable. Where I'm treated well as a paying customer is...
Read moreFrom the moment you walk in, you can tell the owner takes great pride in his restaurant and genuinely loves what he does. The atmosphere is warm and full of laughter. The owner joyfully checked in with guests to make sure everyone has what they need.
I ordered the stone bowl with chicken, and it was absolutely delicious! The presentation was beautiful: A bed of rice with a variety of veggies/chicken layered around and a sunny-side egg on top. It came with two side dishes, kimchi and a cucumber-style kimchi, plus a flavorful gochujang sauce. The freshness of the kimchi really stood out, and the heat from the stone bowl kept everything hot until the very last bite. Once I mixed everything in the bowl together with the sauce, every bite was amazing. The crispy rice layer at the bottom added the perfect touch of crunch and flavor. I didn’t even take pictures of the food because I was too busy enjoying it!
I honestly have nothing negative to say. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. I’ll definitely be recommending this place to my friends and...
