Went here with my wife for dinner. Based on the name I was expecting a typical pizza place. Upon entering we were surprised to note that had a more upscale feel than your casual pizza joint. We ordered cheesy breadsticks as an appetizer, a pizza, and an emmy burger. The descriptions on the menu were modest and brief, so we were surprised when they delivered the breadsticks. I had expected, well, breadsticks, but what we received was much more than that. It was akin to a sliced focaccia topped with gooey cheese and fresh pesto with a side of rich marinara. A pleasant surprise. Our entrees were just as decadent as the appetizer. The burger was ridiculously juicy and cheesy. I almost felt guilty eating it. The pizza was also great. It had a satisfying cheesy crispiness around the edges, and the center was soft and delicious. My only complaint would be that when we ordered our meal, the waitress said, “Did you want fries with your burger?” I took her to mean that fries were the default side and she wanted to make sure I was ok with that. In reality, the fries are a separate item in addition to the burger. I think the question would have been better phrased, “Did you want to ADD fries with your burger.” It’s a minor gripe however. I could have asked to clarify. The fries were waffle cut, seasoned and fried to perfection, and served in a mountainous pile at a minuscule cost. We plan on visiting here again soon. 5/5...

I have loved this place because I’ve gone here at least nine times in the last month but we just sat down and had the worst experience in Athens. My friend got a cup of coffee and we waited 10 minutes and she still didn’t even bring us milk when we asked for it. There was only one other table of with two people in the whole restaurant. The waitress was so incredibly rude to us. My friend went to the kitchen to ask if he can have some milk in his coffee and she came out screaming and told us to leave. By this time his coffee was cold and we didn’t even get to order. This woman needs to be fired. It was 4:45 PM on the 21st. I owned a restaurant and my friend is a reknown chef. We never saw such inept and rude service like this before. Update: I called the manager a few days later and he was as rude as the waitress. Said he had timed the time when they dropped off the coffee until my friend asked for the milk a couple of times and she disappeared into the other room and when she came back into the kitchen, he got up to ask for the milk with his coffee. The manager said he timed us on his time stamp and it was only three minutes. That was clearly impossible as we waited close to 15 minutes and never even got our orders taken. I had them on speakerphone with another professional in my car and when she started talking, he hung up on her and told us not to come back to the restaurant. Never in our lives have we had an...

I miss the Grit, but if anyone was gonna replace them, I’m happy it was Emmy Squared. I really enjoy the pizza as a native Michigander! You have to like a thick crust. If you remember the Sicilian slices at Transmet, I’d say they’re similar to that AND I definitely can eat half for dinner and half the next day because it’s so filling. I have to add: they really shine in the area of customer service. Clumsy by nature, I managed to trip in a pothole in the parking lot. Our waitress saw my skinned knee and limp and offered me ice and wipes to clean myself up. Another staff member saw we had toddlers with us and promptly helped us put their orders in (crucial if you’ve ever dined with anyone under the age of 4). The staff really helped make a tough day better! I had already thrown my shoulder out earlier that day so I was using the ice there as well when the waitress noticed. We ordered dessert as our kiddos were starting to get antsy and not only was it absolutely delicious, she kindly comped the dessert and told me to feel better soon. These acts of kindness meant the world to me! I forget their names, which is a bummer because I would love to share with the owner what a wonderful team they have hired. We...

Was so pleasantly surprised my favorite pizza in Brooklyn was here in Athens. Came for the pizza, also got burgers and everything was impeccable in taste and freshness. Order: Vodka pizza: simple and super fluffy yet crispy crust in Detroit style mixed with mama style pizza pies in NY. Incredible, I will always order this. Best pizza I have found in Georgia. Le Big Matt: cooked to perfection, the Sammy sauce was a nice touch with a hint of horseradish, pretzel bun was a good pairing, Chopped Cheese Burger: big burger but chopped up was a new item I had never seen, it was simple a classic, very tasty Caesar Salad: very tasty dressing with anchovy paste as it should be, nice and tangy. Our server today was running the whole front of the house with bringing food and serving table, Sydney was such a sweetheart and really warmed up the place. Met the GM Brandon and he was also very kind and gave us some details on the location and how things are made. Lovely people, incredibly tasty food, a little pricey with ~$20 per person but well worth it and the price paid is reflected in the $ sign on the review. Will 100% be coming back.

Solo dining for the night and this was a great choice. I sat at the bar around 5pm. The place was pretty empty. 4.4 overall. The good: service at the bar was excellent, although i was only one there. I ordered 3 pies to try a variety and bring some home. They were all good but the classic could have used more cheese and the colony was a little sweet for me but the pizza was a 7.8/10 and vip the best out of the lot. Ambiance was nice, bathrooms clean. The few challenges: you're paying for the rent a little in the prices, and the cocktails were expensive for well tequila and 4-5oz of actual liquid. Stick with wine. No beer taps. No obvious parking. Bar seats uncomfortable. I would definitely return when I'm back in the area with family, but i would be selective with timing to avoid the college crowd.

A welcome addition of this Detroit-style pizza chain to the Athens casual dining scene. Ordered the Margerita pizza, which was well executed. The exterior of the crust was appropriately crunchy and the interior was soft — as a well executed Detroit-style pizza should be. The toppings tasted good, but not exceptional. The shaved Brussels sprouts salad was nice too. The Megroni (Negroni with a twist) tasted very good for a drink that came out of a bar at a pizza place. The prices are a high for a pizza place but justified by the higher quality of the food in my opinion. The place can get a bit loud because the acoustics of the walls when they are busy. But not so loud that you have to shout to talk to the person across the table. They do have a bit of outdoor seating that would avoid this problem.
