Great place! I turned 21 on January 9th, and went bar hopping with a friend in Athens today to celebrate. Had the BEST experience here out of any bar!! Especially Kelsey, who was our bartender and very sweet!!! I told her I like cranberry juice, rum, and anything sweet and she made up a drink for us. She was very kind and it turns out she works the same career field as my friend and I on top of this job bartending! It is a stressful careerfield we work in, so the fact that she balances that full time on top of bar tending on the weekends and still has a fantastic attitude is incredible. Perhaps I'm biased, but Mags is one of my favorite bars in Athens. It's pretty large and nicer inside, caters to a more upperclassmen/just graduated crowd more than the crazy party crowd, so the vibe inside is usually chiller than the neighboring bars. It's a great place to play pool, and the drinks are reasonable, if a touch on the pricey side. If you become a regular and go often and meet the people working, you'll find that they have a really good, consistent staff- not a revolving door. Emily took such good care of us! She had liquor recommendations for us for every drink I was trying to describe. I was honestly clueless, but she helped me find drinks that I was beyond satisfied with! Would highly recommend! Mason and K.P. Were also incredible!
