I just had a horrible experience with one of your bartenders—a woman with a dark bob haircut who was wearing baseball cap. I’ve been going to Sister Louisa’s for a few years now and have only ever had positive interactions with staff and bartenders and even know some personally, but tonight was a different story. I sat down at the far end of the bar with my friend and waited for the bartender to get to me. It was a busy night, but eventually someone took my order—not a problem, I used to bartend and know what it’s like to get backed up. Anyway, by the time the bartender checked on our end of the bar, my friend and I had been sitting there much longer than anyone else, and I mentioned that we were probably next—still no apparent issues but apparently this comment didn’t sit well at all. She let me place a drink order (just some vodka mixed drinks), and when they came back they were so watered down that even when several other people tasted them no one could tell tell if there was any alcohol in the drinks at all (not an issue I have ever experienced before at Sister Louisa’s, I’m used to the drinks being pretty strong). Anyway, after she brought the drinks out, she again scanned the same section of the bar where my friend and I were seated, seeming unsure of who to go to next. Since she seemed new and unsure of what to do, not to mention she had just gotten to me and was still in my vicinity, I said, “oh hey, I think my friend’s next.” Again, we had been there much longer than anyone else nearby, and the tone of my voice was not in any way belligerent or demanding, just trying to get her attention in a normal, acceptable manner. Up to this point I was unaware that I had upset her so much—I’m on the spectrum and do mean my best but can’t always read people right off the bat—but after I said this, she was visibly angered and disturbed. I noticed this and tried to apologize, saying “I’m so sorry, I really don’t mean to be rude.” Then before I could finish my thought she quipped, “well you ARE being rude.” Afterwards, she made the decisions to deliberately ignore my friend and even avoid eye contact with us, going to every other customer at that end of the bar before him—some of these people had even sat down while she was giving me the drinks I had ordered. Like I said, I completely understand being backed up and busy as a bartender, and I know you can’t always get to people in the exact order that they sit down. But this was deliberate and petty and completely unprofessional. I’ve never had a negative experience with a bartender here until tonight, and I would never interact with a staff member or bartender without good intentions or a good attitude. I don’t write reviews ever, but this was just completely uncalled for and truly disturbing. I hope this person was just having a bad night, but even if that’s the case, I don’t deserve to have it taken out on me. Whether or not the bartender misconstrued my words, this is completely unacceptable customer service, especially for a place like...
Read moreAt first I LOVED this place. Its has great drinks, decor and wonderful bartenders but after tonight sadly my friends and I won't be going back anytime soon due to the events of tonight. Stood in line for over 15 mins just to have the guy at the gate let four people behind us in after, we were told one in one out. Of course I made the comment that we were in line first to which I for the reply that "money talks", because he was paid by a guest already inside.A previous employee had already turned down the guest offer and said "it wouldn't be fair bc they werent next in line". But obviously it didn't matter to some. We had waited our turn in line but instead...
Read moreThe staff members at Church are rude and pretentious. I've been to the Church in Atlanta many times and have always had such a great time, but the one in Athens has a mediocre group of employees that have managed to ruin my or my friend's nights several times. From getting kicked out on my 21st birthday for having a license that expired that night (and being told to never come back) to watching a girl get disrespected and yelled at and then kicked out for crying while quietly sitting with friends, the staff has a way of severely mishandling certain situations, and my friends and I will be taking our business elsewhere...
