Casa Blanca — Restaurant in Athens

I had picked out what I wanted to order. My wife picked out hers. I explained to him what I wanted with the 5 taco plate. I asked him to explain it to me. The waiter acted like he couldn't understand me and we went back and forth for like 5 minutes. What seem like forever I finally said I'll try the same thing my wife got. They brought her food out first 5 minutes later they brought mine out. The food they brought me didn't look right. We got the same plate but I love tacos above all Mexican food. After we got the same plate I told the waiter this doesn't look the same it looks disgusting. It just ran all over the plate. The waitercame by I said to him what I originally wanted to try was TACOS and we tried to order it again and all of a sudden he understood me. The waiter brought that out to me and everything started looking up. I was enjoying my meal and then the waiter came out and said we're going to charge you for that other meal Special #1. That's when things went South. I lost my hunger and interest in the meal and couldn't enjoy myself. The meal was a complete disaster and I ended up getting a to go box and leaving early. But upon the beginning I asked for a Michelob Dark beer and the waiter acted like he couldn't understand me and brought me out a light beer. On the second one he ended up bringing me out another beer I would have been happier with. Long story short we should have just gotten up and left when they didn't have...

Very unsatisfied. The place was dirty, our glasses were dirty. Our waitress could not speak English. It was difficult even to order our drinks. My husband and I asked for no pico de gallo since we don't like onions/peppers very much. His dish came with it piled on. His rice was also filled with onions, peppers, and various other veges like green beans, carrots, peas, etc.. Mine did not have the pico de gallo on it, however the chicken quesadilla I got was filled... FILLED with onions and peppers. Probably 30% chicken, 70% veges. Sloppy and wet veges too. No cheese to be seen. Nowhere on the menu did my food description include "peppers and onions". The manager came over and could barely speak English either. When I finally got another dish, it was grilled chicken with very little cheese. It tasted pretty good. So I left thinking everything worked out. It wasn't until we got back to the hotel that my husband told me they charged us for the first plate of food we sent back!! You know, the one full of onions and peppers that I recieved after telling our waitress I did not want onions and peppers - the one that had no onions and peppers whatsoever in the menu description! But you know... everything above was forgivable, and I wouldn't have written a bad review... but having to pay for returned food? Really awful management decision! And really bad customer service with difficult communication. We will avoid this place in our future...

Had a young waiter argue with my son (while eating lunch on Mother's Day) about what he could order for his daughter telling my son that he was not going to argue with him. My son was ordering a child's plate because she was not very hungry and would pay what he needed to. He was trying to explain to him that that he was not telling him his 12 year old was younger, he was telling him that she did not want a big plate. There is a Mexican restaurant in Decatur that we ate at the day before that would allow you to order a child's meal and pay for the up charge if you were older. My son does not like wasting food and was not real crazy about the young man's attitude or how he handled it. We like the Casa Blanca in Huntsville a lot and have been to it COUNTLESS times over the years and like the food. All 4 grandbabies like grilled chicken and rice with cheese. One grandbaby likes steak and quesadillas and sometimes other plates. My absolute favorite is chili con carne AKA Chili Colorado with double beans, no rice. We will definitely not be going back to the Athens location. We had a party of 11. It made it a little stressful watching and...
