I went for lunch and there was an overwhelming fragrance of cleaning products, which I ignored because I was hungry. I ordered a draft beer and the server struggled to explain the difference between a small and large (in ounces or difference in price). Every time I asked something about the menu, she nodded as if she understood what I was saying. When I asked how the eggs are cooked for the huevos rancheros, she told me that they were cooked hard. I asked for over easy and if she understood what that meant. Again, she nodded as if she did. When the English speaking manager brought the dish, it was easy to tell that both the eggs were cooked hard. I sent them back and told him that I asked for over easy. When they came a second time, one egg was cooked hard and the other over easy—and they forgot the flour tortillas I ordered. When the tortillas finally came, they weren’t hot, and the sauce was the same as the bland salsa they serve with chips, except that it was slightly warm. I ate because I was starving. And the meal was so poor that I feel I wasted my money. Between the beer and meal, it cost me the better part of $20 before tip. My advice: Don’t eat here if you wish to eat huevos rancheros…they have no idea how to cook eggs. Perhaps it would have been a better experience if I’d have brought a person with me who speaks better Spanish than I do. Either way, the meal was a...
Read moreAs we walked in, I thought the place was wonderfully decorated with a nice open, and large layout. The longer we sat there, the more the restaurant lost its appeal. The service was slow, but we had chips and salsa to hold us as we waited. I'm sure if we had ordered a couple of margaritas we wouldn't have minded. We saw a lot of their margaritas that other people ordered. They were huge and people really seemed to enjoy them, however I suspect the establishment uses the alcoholic drinks to mask the fact that they do not prepare the food very well. My wife's favorite Mexican dish to eat and also prepare is chili verde. She was less than impressed when her plate came and it was just cooked meat with green sauce poured over the top. She decided to keep an open mind and try it despite the way it looked and the green sauce was terrible and the beef was dry. Also we were surprised that they serve it with beef instead of pork. I ordered the chicken and rice which came out dry. The food we ordered was way overpriced for the quality and amount that you get. If you're looking to enjoy a good margarita and get tipsy while feeding your family, this is the place for you. If your looking for a nice Mexican meal for a decent price,...
Read moreWe went here for my father's birthday and I understand that you put a gratuity on a bigger group. However, that does not give your server the right to be lazy and ask if you want refills when you've been sitting there waiting for a refill for at least 10 minutes. Some of my friends food was cold and my son was the last one to get his food which took at least 5 minutes to come out after the rest of the food. They also decided to put the gratuity on two separate to go orders that some of our friends ordered because their significant others were working and could not be there. This place used to be really good but I won't be back. When we tried talking to the manager about the issues, she was really unhelpful, disrespectful, and rude. You really shouldn't try to argue with the customer when the customer is just trying to tell you the problem that they had with their experience. I understand that sometimes the customer is not always right but that does not excuse talking down to someone. If you're in town and looking for a Mexican place to eat at, I recommend Casablanca or Elizabeth's on 31. I have not ever had a problem with these two...
