Taco Bell — Restaurant in Athens

8/8/2025 around 8:00pm Took my family out for a quick dinner, ordered at the kiosk one employee was working the register and was saying it was broken, a female employee walked up and helped him then another employee helped him, he tried another order and was saying was broken so another female employee helped him and as she was leaving he was having more issues so he had her to help him again and she told him to just push buttons until something happened as she walked out the door, also he was complaining the whole time and seemed like he didn’t even want to be there, the employees need to be better trained and should not act out in front of customers, Food was mostly good except for the chicken in the discovery boxes it was almost dehydrated it was so dry, and tables seem to never be cleaned when you set down nor the floors under the tables when I got our refills that’s when I noticed the biggest issue, I did not notice on the first drink fill was busy with kids and trying to hurry to feed them but when I went back to get our refills I noticed mold and dirt on and beside the drink machine and on the spill way rack that is a deal breaker in one shot in my opinion, having people’s health in your hands, and I just now started going back after getting food poisoning 8 months ago at this same location on Decatur pike in Athens TN, this has been my 3rd trip here since then and to find this is absolutely disgusting and I believe I’ll be driving across town to another Taco Bell or just stop going altogether again, nobody can risk getting they’re family sick for a quick meal especially me and my family.

Went through drive through and ordered 2 cheezy bean and rice burritos only rice add potatoes and red strips. I get them and they have the creamy jalapeño sauce as my wife is vegan she can not eat them. I simply went right around back to speaker and told they employee that I just came through what my order was and said that the burritos had the creamy jalapeño sauce on them. The employee then states I made your order so I know they personally only had rice potatoes and red strips no sauce. As I state again, I can pull around and show you she then repeats her earlier statement so I pulled around and went to window. They were standing at the counter seen me preceed to not even approach window and check what the problem were as I sat there about 3 and half minutes they then had another employee go to hand me the order as I show him the burrito was covered in the sauce and said well does your recipet say no sauce as I state again no it says only rice meaning only rice and add potatoes and red strips. Then makes more excuses about being new etc. The problem was the lady who told me I was wrong twice without even checking the product out for herself. This was...

Ordered for two, and the total exceeded the cost of a proper sit-down meal elsewhere—outrageous considering the experience. Part of the order was forgotten (yet again), and getting someone’s attention to fix it felt like pulling teeth. To make matters worse, when I asked for the large cups I had paid for, the staff demanded to see my receipt as though I was trying to scam them for a few ounces of soda.

The food itself was downright appalling. The chalupa shells were cold and hard, as if they’d been stored in a freezer and left to thaw at room temperature. Nearly every ingredient tasted stale, bland, or outright nasty. It’s astonishing how a fast-food chain can take a simple concept and fail at every level.
