As a strategic communications specialist, brand strategist, and former influencer (130K following), I like to give balanced, honest reviews. If you’re considering staying here, here’s what you need to know. I’ll start with “the bad” just in case they’re deal breakers.
The Bad: Front Desk Service: Our check-in was met with a scowl and a mumbled “how can I help you” from Mary. No welcome, no explanation of charges or hotel amenities—just bad vibes. She also rolled her eyes at a customer on the phone, so we didn’t feel great about asking for anything. When my husband later inquired about unexplained incidental charges, she offered nothing but a blank stare instead of apologizing for not explaining them day one. Oddly enough, she had no problem smiling while telling us we were on the “wrong elevator,” which isn’t labeled by the way. Text Message Service = Ghosted: After booking via a third-party, we got a message saying to text for anything we needed. We texted twice—for towels and for clean sheets. Nothing ever came. When we followed up, another front desk worker claimed they never got our texts and said we should use the hotel’s website messaging system—which doesn’t exist. So we were told to just call. Huh? Housekeeping Confusion: We stayed four nights. Our stained sheets weren’t changed after two days upon our request, and we were told that sheets are typically replaced after checkout and that sheets aren’t usually changed every day at one’s home. This isn’t our home—it’s a hotel. A clean one should be standard. Dining Frustrations: Pom Court food = amazing, but the service is hit or miss if you sit outside (no host, long waits, or ignored altogether). On one night, the restaurant closed early “due to something in the kitchen,” and the speakeasy (May Peel) told us they were closed—only to open an hour later to cater to the Beyoncé crowd. Why not just tell us to come back at 9pm? Valet Drama: We overheard a short valet employee walk by calling a patron “stupid” after a parking miscommunication. Unprofessional. Where’s the Front Desk? It’s hidden next to the café with zero signage. Another guest had to point it out to us. Noise: If your room faces the courtyard, be ready for late-night noise. We heard yelling and laughter at 3 a.m. and traffic from Peachtree Street. Still No Receipt: We were promised our receipt via email at checkout. It’s been a week after emailing the hotel, manager, and staff, and I still haven’t received it.
The Good: Food: Everything at Pom Court was delicious. The waitstaff (once available) were friendly and helpful. Sunday’s live music was a great touch. Room: Spacious and very clean—one of the cleanest we’ve ever stayed in. Only one robe for two people, but no biggie. May Peel: Incredible service. Our server walked us through the menu and drink suggestions were on point—strong, too. The Vibe: The hotel is beautiful, whimsical, and well-located. The courtyard has a great atmosphere and is perfect for lounging or socializing.
Bottom Line: This place could be a 5-star experience, but the communication and professionalism need work. If those kinks get ironed out, we’d gladly return. If management reads this, I hope it’s taken as constructive—not met with a copy-paste apology such as “we regret we missed the mark…”. (And yes, I still...
Read moreSuper cute boutique hotel in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. The courtyard is dreamy, and design/vibe/decor is STUNNING.
Food - We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the Pom Court - great service, delicious drinks and tasty food. Along with the food, I also really enjoyed the dishware, flatware, napkins, glasses. Whomever bought all this has great taste!
Location - You can easily walk to Colony Square (plenty of restaurants), High Art Museum, symphony, theater, Piedmont Park, Marta station, and a Whole Foods if you need a little snack or water. It's also a quick drive to Ponce City Market or downtown attractions.
Service - The valet attendants are really attentive and kind. I didn't always have money for a tip, and they still provided exceptional service. The Pom Court staff and women running the breakfast/coffee bar were all super nice. The women working the front desk were average. I didn't necessarily feel a warm welcome during check-in or check-out. I felt as if I was annoying them.
The Room - I booked a 2 queen room with a small fridge (no microwave or coffee maker which was fine by me). Hotel provided 2 bottles of complimentary Fiji water which was a nice touch. The entire hotel and our room have obviously gone through an extensive renovation that must have cost a pretty penny. My guess is that it must have re-opened in August 2024? The room is spacious enough with comfy beds, high quality bedding and decor. We were on the fourth floor which was kind of a bummer because we didn't have a view of the beautiful courtyard. I read a review that it can be noisy at night with music in the courtyard. I did not find that to be the case at all.
Price - I paid $215 (including all the crazy ATL taxes) per night on a weekend in October with a promotion that I found on their website. I also received a $50 dining credit at the Pom Court. For the location and hotel quality, I thought this was a reasonable price. The only bummer is parking. If you have a car, the only option is valet parking which is $50 per day. I don't think this is disclosed very well on the website or though booking emails. I suppose you could park for about $25 per day in a nearby parking garage, but I'm not sure it's worth the hassle and the walk. I also had an issue when I checked out. I didn't receive the $50 dining credit and had to email the hotel which was a pain. To their credit, they admitted fault and remedied the situation.
I will probably never be back to Atlanta because it's way too crowded and the traffic is killer, but if I am forced to visit the ATL again and need a hotel, then this will be my...
Read moreWe were excited to stay at this hotel after reading about it in a Condé Nast Travel article.
It is a charming property. The building is beautiful and the courtyard is lovely. The location is good and we took advantage of the MARTA station, which is a quick walk away.
There is a nonslip rug at the main entrance ramp. It has a pungent smell, which I’m sure is due to the amount of rain in Atlanta. It isn’t the most pleasant way to enter and exit the hotel—it squelched when we walked on it. I’d suggest looking into alternative solutions, like a nonslip rubber mat that doesn’t absorb water.
With the exception of the valet staff, the other staff members we met were not welcoming or attentive. Housekeeping provided enough towels for two on the first night, but we had to call for more towels the second night as there were only enough towels for one. When we called downstairs, the attendant wasn’t polite, but we promptly received more towels.
Also, there was only one robe in the room. We booked the room for two guests, so we were surprised there was only one robe. To be fair, we didn’t ask for a second robe. I imagine they would have brought another robe up if we’d asked for one.
We enjoyed the complimentary coffee each morning at the cafe. The cafe’s menu is limited though. We ended up grabbing breakfast elsewhere.
There was no complimentary water, which is pretty standard these days. There wasn’t a water station on the floor either, and while there was a water station in the lobby level, it wasn’t always filled with water. It’s also inconvenient to go downstairs every time you’d like some water. We ended up buying bottled water from the Whole Foods down the street.
The mini fridge is small. If you’re traveling with multiple guests, there isn’t much room for leftovers. It’s stocked with bottled water and other beverages. There’s also an assortment of snacks available. The mark up was high—$5 for one bottle of water.
There isn’t a lot of storage in the room, so I wouldn’t recommend the hotel for long stays. The hotel should add some additional storage in the bathroom, especially in the shower. I’d also suggest a stand for suitcases or an additional set of drawers.
I did like how easy it was to connect my personal devices to the TV. There is a QR code to scan, which quickly syncs devices so we could stream from our Netflix account.
Overall, we had a nice time. Just think a couple tweaks were needed to improve the...
