Writing this review per Dr. David’s request. Last night, I chose to stop in towards the end of my solo date and I was sat pretty promptly by my waiter, Dr. David. At first interaction, he seemed friendly but a bit rushed ( it’s 8:30 on a Friday night so that wasn’t surprising). After asking him for sparkling water and a mint hookah he walked off quickly before I could even give him my cocktail order; it was fine though, I could wait. Really, the only reason I mention it is because he would abruptly walk away after each interaction to follow. Whether it be taking my order or dropping something at the table; he’d continuously just walk off without giving me a second to ask for a napkin or anything else I may have needed. He would go straight to the 2 top across from me, seeming a lot less rushed, too. That’s when it hit me - oh, he doesn’t think a solo diner is worth his efforts, got it. Shortly after, the same table across from me was mistakenly given the hookah I ordered. After taking the hookah back, they waited about 10 minutes before serving me back that very same hookah. After pulling it a couple of times, I could tell that the coals were old and had to order new ones. For my entree, I ordered the pickled carrots, goat cheese, falafel, and potatoes. The food all arrived at once, completely crowding the table and once again, the doctor was off to see his other patients before I could even utter a “thank you”. The food was delicious, no complaints on that, and after managing to finally get his attention I asked for my leftovers to be bagged and the check. He looked at me as if my request was unheard of. He repeated it even, “so you want me to bag this up for you?” Meanwhile the table literally has no space to bag my left overs even if I’d preferred to. He reluctantly grabbed my plates and bagged them up in the back. He returned with my bag and a check (aka huge tablet stuck abruptly in my face). After paying via card, I tipped him in cash, generously, as I typically do (I’m not a monster). After this, his face lit up with gratitude, and he immediately requested that I write him a review. I now had earned the privilege of knowing his name. David, Dr. David to be exact. I smiled politely at the introduction and he says “no, really, I’m a doctor!” without missing a beat now his iPhone is in my face showing me his instagram to prove he’s the man he claims to be, and he’s scrolling away, too. Lots of selfies. In a plea to get his feed out of my face I promised him I’d write a review. I’m a woman of my word. After this, he was feeling generous enough to offer me a complimentary ice cream or sorbet- I chose the sorbet, yet, what he delivered shortly after was a glass of champagne. Whatever, I wasn’t going to complain about something that was complimentary in the first place. Despite his “effort of appreciation”, I left Divan with a sour taste in my mouth due to the doctor’s service. Honestly, I was going to keep this experience to myself, but it’s the next day and I just opened my bag to realize he had packaged all my food in one container. And he didn’t bother to pack my tzatziki sauce. Probably...
Read moreGreat space for having a quaint dinner or a group of guests. The decor is very modern and pleasing to the eye. Great aesthetics throughout the restaurant .
Enjoyed a dinner party for a birthday celebration. Packages are available must order packages from food menu and drink menu. We were on the 4th floor in the Mississippi Atlanta room .
Decently large space for about 30 to 40 guests. I didn't particularly agree with their only being one server allotted to our area for that number of guests. She was definitely going non-stop. We would have preferred there be at least two servers for that number of guests. There was a gentleman on staff that did come in and help towards the end. However she had to balance the entire party alone .
Other than that, the elevator is a little frustrating because only three people can fit on it and it moves extremely slow when it comes to going up to the fourth floor. Not everyone is able to climb four flights of steps. However that is where the dinner party room was located.
Maybe work on trying to make your restaurant a bit more handicap accessible for those who may need it, and also adding more servers to parties over 20 .
The food was absolutely delicious. There was a four or five course menu to choose from. The food came out and shareable portions which was plenty. I can't say enough about the meal because it was delicious. The lamb chops were absolutely amazing! The dessert array was very delicious and pleasing to the taste buds. The salad to start was very fresh and the hummus was amazing! Cross the board for the food!
The allotted time for the event space was 2 hours which is a bit of a crunch. They do allow hookah there is hookah served. They had a beautiful lounging area and deck outside of the party rooms where Guess we're able to gather and enjoy hookah.
Valet is available that's the most conducive way of parking being that street parking is available and there is a parking garage a little further down the street. Mocktails were available which were definitely a great addition to the menu, very tasty.
It was extremely warm in the party room. It felt like there was no air circulating at all. Guesswork using fans and what not to keep cool. That was definitely a negative .
There is also only one hour...
Read moreI've been to Divan before on a late night vibe, I didn't have dinner but had drinks and I was fond of the decor. It was located in Buckhead at the time and had two floors, they had these private rooms that intrigued me, I always thought it would be cool to have a private dinner in one of them. Fast forward they have a new location in midtown (old location burned down) and I finally got to dine in!
This location is huge, they have five floors I believe both indoor and outdoor seating. It has a similar decor to the first location, still has private rooms but they have patios also. The space looks really nice, it is like a tiny country club with multiple bars and tons of seats, a lounge, they serve hookah, it is really a one stop shop for everything you would look for in an establishment which is incredibly impressive.
Service was phenomenal, the manager Andrew was really attentive and made sure our table was taken care of, he even took about five minutes to explain to us what happened to the old location and what the difference was at the new location. Between ordering meals, refilling waters, and making suggestions the staff at Divan was amazing.
The food was good, I'm a huge fan of Mediterranean cuisine so I was looking forward to all the dishes they had to offer. The only knock I have about the food is that the meats were a little dry, ground beef, lamb, and chicken unfortunately, the sauce that came with each respective dish balanced it out but I think there is room for improvement. My favorite dish was the turkey and pistachio dufta meatballs, I had it as an appetizer. It had tons of flavor, it was so delicious. The entire experience at Divan was amazing. I willl definitely be back again, it is a great place for a date or even an outing amongst a big group of friends. Like I said before it has everything you need...
