I do not recommend this restaurant if you're expecting any level of good service or food. From the outside, it looks to be a nice establishment, complete with complimentary valet. The exterior is appealing, and the guy running the valet seemed nice. Our first issue was trying to get inside— the two front doors are completely covered by fake flower strings, obstructing the entrance entirely. We had to search for the entrance, and as soon as we got inside, three different people rudely told us to give them a moment. We asked not to be seated near the DJ, which was blaring music, and it felt like playing musical chairs with the way the staff failed to accommodate us until we corrected them repeatedly. The decor is extremely loud and overwhelming, covering every inch of surface available. Even the bathroom hallway is covered in string flowers, obstructing any signage (of which there is none, just a picture of Frida Kahlo to differentiate the bathrooms). The inside of the bathroom is a sensory nightmare, with wall to wall paintings of famous people and a "teach me how to learn Spanish" audio playing loudly on repeat. If I had not been warned beforehand, I would have been terrified to hear a man in the bathroom— which the translator was. Once seated, the tables were tiny and crammed full of unnecessary decoration that we had to remove to be able to comfortably sit. Our waitress attended to us three times while we were there, which was jarring because the table next to us— who knew the owner and told us so— was waited on hand and foot, receiving free dessert and having every need attended to. Meanwhile, we had sporadic service and no water refills. The food itself was not good. We got $3 tacos for Taco Thursday, and they were bland and small in portion with overwhelming garnishes. We also ordered the dip trio, which had no flavor. Another table across the room ordered fajitas, and they have no ventilation, so smoke filled the entire restaurant and made my eyes sting. Upon leaving, the valet attendant was nowhere to be found. We had to go into the UNLOCKED and BROKEN valet cabinet to get our keys, and our car was not locked, which is a safety hazard. The valet never returned before we left. I am extremely disappointed and will never go back. It was an awful experience.

Looks unassuming from the street, but once you get in via the slightly deceptive front doors, it’s a very different mood inside. Great amount of covered patio space, and while some are put off by the hanging decorations, I find them endearing. If you’re looking for a buttoned up, straight-laced experience, go somewhere else. This place is all about fun and enjoying what it is, not what you want it to be. We hadn’t read any reviews or looked at the menu, just walked down from our nearby apartment on the hunt for some good patio margaritas, and ended up staying here for nearly 3 hours. The presentation of the drinks, from “smoked” (not really but still fun) margaritas to giant fishbowls, down to properly frosted mugs for a good selection of Latin beers, was not what you’d expect from most Hispanic restaurants. The food was several tiers above what you’d think of for a typical Hispanic restaurant too, and I was very happy to see and order their arepas Venezolanas on the menu. The owner took notice of me feasting on the arepa la Reina pepiada, maybe not too many gringos go for those, and he engaged in some very welcome table side chatter which ultimately resulted in a complimentary platter of patacones (another fond memory from my only visit to Venezuela) arriving shortly thereafter. My only regret is for other nearby restaurants; we are going to be spending a lot more of our time at Las Margaritas from now on, they are one of the best options in this area already saturated with good eateries.

I am not sure what to make of this restaurant. They just opened after been closed for few years. Service and food was very good, but place is very heavily decorated, very busy to the eye. Cant tell if they want to be a bar, a restaurant, or a lounge. Music was played fairly loud at times, and among the genres, reggaeton, not what I would expect from a latin/mexican restaurant, when there is such a great variety of tasteful latin music, from baladas to salsa/merinque. My margarita was well prepared ,refreshing. For main course I ordered the Cuban Ropa VIeja; tasty and flavorful. Not sure if we will patronize this establishment again, not sure who do they want to target as their main audience.

My client and I were in the mood for margaritas and we decided on Las Margaritas. The host was sweet but the service took a real quick turn for the worst as we were paying our check. My client ordered the chicken fajitas on the lunch menu, her and the server even discussed the time of day and I looked at my watch confirming it was not 3pm. All was good, we got our food and when I asked for the check, my client noticed she was charged for the dinner portion. When the server came back she had said I think there was a misunderstanding as you seemed to have charged me for the wrong entree and I would like you to adjust it to what I ordered. The server then got the menu and told her this is what she ordered and had she ordered the lunch portion it would have been shredded chicken. No disrespect but as the customer, how are we supposed to know we are eating the Lunch portion or the dinner portion? As the server continued to argue with my client, he told her she ate it and needed to pay for it… I finally interjected and requested he get the manager, as he walked away to get the manager he told her she was being rude and was hurting his feelings and she said I’m sorry your hurting my feelings (mind you this is all over a $12.00 adjustment and a misunderstanding) so he said he would get the manager and he hopes we do not come back. Whoa! I just started getting my stuff together because of how uncomfortable and unsafe I felt with my children sitting there. So my client went to the bar to pay and as I was walking out, I overhear the server tell my client again do not come back and he didn’t want a tip. I couldn’t believe what was happening. I literally just wanted to leave and as I’m getting in the car there are staff standing outside on their phones staring at us while my 3 year old is questioning what’s going on. I don’t understand what just happened but don’t worry, at your staff members request we will...
