This location had previously been a Yogli Mogli, so it makes perfect sense to open another ice cream shop there. this is the third Morelli's to open in Atlanta. This is the first one that I've been to, first time, not knowing what to expect. Friendly counter service and clean, with simple red tables and chairs. I ordered a small bowl of butter pecan ice cream, and was told that the butter pecan flavor was non-dairy. That was fine with me, although in retrospect I probably should have all ordered a flavor that was dairy because that might have been a better product. The non-dairy was however good for what it was, with a strong butter pecan taste and a good share of pecan pieces. I ordered a small because I looked at the menu on the wall and realized the offerings were pretty pricey, for me at least, maybe not so much for the average Virginia-Highlander. The small cup, 3 in in diameter at the top, was $4.50 before taxes, so the total spent was just under $5. Hence only four stars. This is not really an atmospheric place, more a get it and go or sit down for a moment, but not really linger, although the place has a single curiosity of what appears to be a model railroad train on an oval track hanging from the ceiling, the kind of thing you might might normally see in a deep suburban barbecue joint with country store styling (I'm thinking of one west of Marietta which I will not bother to name here). It wasn't running, but could be something played up on a busier day or weekend, just for fun, although the general feeling of the place is more modern low key urban not rural throwback. The butter pecan non-dairy product that I had seemed okay, but not exceptional, which is why I now wish I had tried one of the dairy product flavors instead. Nevertheless an amiable experience and cold snack on a hot day. If your pocket is deep enough that the prices of the larger and more fancy items don't deter you, then have at it. I will probably need to count my pennies so I can stop in again for a small bowl at a future date. Best of luck to this new addition to Va-Hi...

Read moreMy wife and I have been coming here for years, and it's our favorite ice cream spot in ATL. Great flavors and amazing service.
I hired the Morelli's team for a sundae bar catered event and was super impressed with the service. Clarissa (the owner) was quick to respond and flexible with arrangements, and on the day of Amor and Mariah showed up at the event early to set up, were excellent servers, and were fantastic to work with. They even wore a goofy personalized apron I had for the event and were all-in on setting the right vibe.
Will be using them for my next event and...
