I thought to treat myself today and really believed if I did a uber eats pick up the process would be faster. Upon arrival I seen my order ready but the older Darkskin heavy set woman was taking each customer who were still picking out food items before acknowledging me. This lady didn’t crack one smile to any customer I realized not even to her coworkers. She moved very slow you would think since the food was precooked it was as simple as hearing what each customer wanted and putting it in the container and moving along. Once she finally acknowledged me I signed my food out but because it was takeout it was stapled together. Which was great. But once I got all the way home I realized neither cornbread was in the bag no biggie I thought to just say forget it but I actually was craving cornbread which was a big reason I ordered I wanted a complete home cooked meal! So once I called I was told I can come back to get it. I again wasn’t upset but for the fact I had to enjoy my meal without it and thought with as much attitude as the lady had I trusted everything to be in the bag but that was my mistake in making it all the way home before realizing. Now here’s where I got frustrated. Once I came back the lady again ignored me as if she never seen me or spoke with me over the phone. Again she had an attitude and seemed frustrated so I was patient in waiting for her. After a few minutes I leaned to the side to get her attention. She looked at me and another guy and said “IF YOURE HERE FOR A PICK UP YOU NEED TO HAVE A SEST ITLL BE A WHILE”!! While the guy sat down I just tried to squeeze my comment in saying “I only came back for the cornbread that wasn’t with my order” she rolled her eyes yelled “TWO CORNBREADS” and turned her back to me! The guy who was passing out cornbread asked her for who and she just pointed behind herself to me. I still said thank you to him but was completely shocked and frowned my face at how she identified me. I may be young but I don’t like being disrespected just because you forgot to put something in my bag. I didn’t get any apology for having to come all the way back. I wasn’t even mad at that I was more upset with how I was treated for it! And it wasn’t my mistake! I’ve been a waitress and this place had no more than 10 customers at a time both times I went in, including pick up carriers so I don’t know why that lady treated every customer like we were her problem. Some people don’t need to work in hospitality! She definitely needs someone to give her a pep talk on how to conduct herself in a more professional way. I for one am disappointed because she was the only woman in there and made the other hardworking men look bad because she wanted to move slow, be rude, forgetful anddd have an attitude! The Audacity!! Ruined the experience for me! She’s lucky I didn’t say anything to her or take a picture and post it for...
Read moreWe visited the Peach Cobble Cafe on 3/7. I heard about it from the Radio and wanted to try the food and the famous peach cobbler. We came from Lawrenceville and waited over an hour to place our order. We weren't too concerned with the wait time because we had a choice to stay or leave. We had a chance to view the menu and observe the staff. Though pricey @ $28 each, we planned to order the brisket and oxtails. That changed when we made it to the window to order. The brisket looked very dry and the oxtails were very fatty, which with oxtails is always a hit or miss. So no biggie, we decided on the 2pc fried chicken (mixed) on the made to order menu, so that was an additional 12 minute wait. Again, we didn't stress the wait time. The staff were doing their best to keep up because there was a line out the door. Due to the volume of people and small space and masks, it was hard for the young man taking orders to hear properly. When our order was ready, the cashier repeated our order and mentioned black eye peas, we had mac n cheese, not peas...so they corrected the order and gave us the peas. In addition to that we ordered the famous peach cobbler. There were a sitting area outside, but with the large crowd waiting to get in, we decided to head home and eat there. There was about a 30 minute travel time back home and the food was still warm when we made it home. I didn't have to reheat it an the portion sizes were good for the price. The chicken was very good and still crispy, although we didn't received a mix, just dark meat, the collard greens were flavorful, with a touch of sweetness to them which I didn't mind. The mac-n-cheese were really good as well as our black eye peas. The corn bread muffin was delicious!!...the reason for the 3 stars...the peach cobbler, and not getting the order correct...I read other reviews about it and wanted to try it for myself. I was really disappointed in the overall taste of it. As other reviews stated, it's not the traditional taste you would expect. There was no hint of cinnamon, nutmeg, butter, vanilla, or sweetness. As for the bitter taste, I couldn't think what was making it taste that way. Not sure if they can tweak the recipe or if that's just the way it is. Overall, the food was good, but I probably won't be a repeat customer. Nothing stood out for me as spectacular to travel 30 minutes and wait in line for...
Read moreThe Peach Cobbler Restaurant was "very misleading"! First of all it was my wife and I first time going there to check out the food. They have an commercial on the radio and it drew me to the restaurant. The commercial has a nice older lady explaining how they cook their food fresh every day and how they're not stingy with the portions served. She was naming a host of items on the menu to choose from. She said, that they have everything you would want and that it's "prepared with love"! My wife and I drove over fifty miles each way to go there. We were expecting to have a wonderful experience according to the commercial. However, that wasn't the case once we got their. There's a big menu on the wall with all the food to choose from. My wife asked for "Pinto Beans", and was told that they didn't have that. That's not what the commercial said! Then we both wanted a "Strawberry and Peach Cobbler". They didn't have the "Strawberry Cobbler", or any of the others either. They only had the "Peach Cobbler".We were told, "don't pay any attention to the menu on the wall." They only have what was on the line! Again, that's not what the commercial said. The workers were a mixed sort. Some of them didn't have a mask on at all and the ones who did were wearing them improper with their noses out. Others, had them pulled down below their chin, so they could talk with you! The employee's in other words are breathing and talking over the food they're serving you! The customers were allowed to come in "without" mask, and order food too! The commercial was misleading and the prices for the "cobblers" were too high for what we got. Certain item were like straight sugar. Others were salty and that's not good for our health. Now, I will say that the greens were good. The prices were too high for the portions we got, and the food didn't pass our standards to make it worth coming back. So, we gave this restaurant a try, and "It's a one and...
