I am living every day like I'm on vacation at @wingastrobar. My tastebuds were delighted to experience a Taste of Bali right in Buckhead Atlanta in every single moment. This restaurant's inspiration was taken from the rich culture and taste of the 17K+ islands of Indonesia to showcase the truest forms of cuisine, coffee, drinks, and culture! From the floor-to-wall decor and Gastrobar style tapas to the handcrafted cocktails I felt the long history of spice routes from Indonesia to the Netherlands and to the world. I definitely felt the love and care throughout my entire reservation. I highly recommend for all occasions: a romantic dinner, to enjoy with friends and especially the Saturday brunch that I will be back for. There is also patio seating, takeout, and delivery. My Favorites:
Small plate (choose 3): Chicken & Egg Pillows: Martabak | Crispy pillows of chicken, egg, and spring onion, served with a tangy relish Corn Fritters: Bakwan Jagung | Crispy and plump fritters of whole sweet corn kernels, mild chili sambal dip Crispy Chicken Kremes: Ayam Goreng Kremes | crispy chicken sprinkled with savory spiced ‘Kremes’ tempura bits, perfect dipped into mild chili sambal dip
Larger Plates: Bali Style Grilled Fish: chargrilled marinated mahi-mahi fillet with Bali spices, ‘sambal matah’ relish of shallots, lemongrass, red bell pepper, and lime, served with seasonal vegetables

Read moreI really like to rate restaurants on a non-busy day, but I'm moving soon and may not get back to this spot. It's was a nice experience. We came on a Saturday evening and apparently they had a lot of reservations. I was wanting to get away from the door a little more but they wouldn't seat us anywhere else due to the size of our party being smaller. Not a big deal.
We couldn't get in the doors from the parking garage and it was chilly and rainy. We had to walk out of the garage and up a flight of stairs. It's mostly covered so not a big deal.
When you walk into the restaurant it has a nice vibe. There's a bar and the decor of the building adds to a relaxed vibe. Most of the seating that I saw was half-booth tables (booth on one side, chairs on the other). Plenty of space between us the next table.
The restroom did not have a baby changing station, so changing a diaper was a little awkward (according to a member of our party).
My first disappointment was they didn't have the Sangria drink that was on the menu. BUT...the taquilla drink I had did not disappoint. It's a play on taquilla sunrise.
The food was pretty good. Came here with family and we ordered several appetizers. I've honestly forgotten the names of some of the dishes, so I'll just describe the photos.
The trio appetizers were ok. Nothing to write home about. If you listen closely though, you could hear the roasted pork begging for some salt! Very bland. Some of the dipping sauces helped. The appetizer in the middle was just ok. The spring rolls were the better of the three (go figure).
Now, the lamb on the sticks...get them! Those were the star appetizer! The sauce was amazing...actually use some of it on the other appetizers too!
The main dish was beef rendang. It was good! I heard that they wont substitute the rice for any other kind of rice, but that was ok because while I wanted fried rice, another in our party ordered it and it was TERRIBLE! It looked like lunch-time's steamed brown rice.
Those who know me, know I LOVE creme brulee! Well this one fell FLAT! Huge disappointment. If you're a brulee enthusiast, the sugar surface was soggy. That just ruins the fun. The flavor of the custard was good. 3 stars on the food.
The entire time, two servers attended to our table and were very attentive. 4 stars on the service.
All in all, I would come here again for sure. The price was really fair for the...
Read moreI was in Midtown visiting the High and had time to stop for dinner before my next event so decided to visit WIN – Taste of Bali for an early dinner. I found out about this spot earlier this year and have been looking forward to the day I could dine here, and I was not disappointed. I was lucky and found a parking spot directly in front of the restaurant, if you can’t find a spot in the front, drive in the back for additional parking.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated with green plants and an Amazing Indonesian mural, I was greeted with smiles by all of the employees and walked to a table and the waiter took time to explain the menu and recommend a few of his favorites since it was my first time. I arrived around 5:30pm on a Tuesday and there were two other couples inside, I was dining solo which I regretted only because there were so many dishes I wanted to try. Check out their specials online, on the day I went they had $5 Bali 75 (gin, passionfruit, citrus, and prosecco), which was very refreshing and strong, I only ordered one since I was driving.
I ordered two small plates and one entrée and ate every last bite because the food was SO GOOD! Full of flavor, fresh ingredients and the presentation was so beautiful. I started with Rica Rica Shrimp Al Ajillo which had the perfect amount of spice. I received six chargrilled shrimp with rica rica marinate, drizzled with savory garlic sauce served on top of basil leaves. My second small plate was four vegetable spring rolls (lumpia) filed with shitake mushrooms and veggies served with sweet and sour ginger dip. I had no self-control; I slowly ate all 4 rolls and enjoyed each bite. For my entrée I ordered the fish curry rice plate, white fish fingers tempura with a light and zesty curry sauce. The plate came with yellow savory coconut rice, veggie stew and caramelized tempeh. The veggie stew didn’t look too appealing, but I decided to still try it and I’m so glad I did, the coconut broth paired perfectly with the squash, kale and braised jackfruit. It’s a very filling plate with so many different textures and flavors, you won’t be disappointed.
I received five-star service from all employees and I’m planning on returning soon and bringing my family for a birthday dinner since they accept...
