the food here is delish however the service was cheeks. First of all, the server did not honor the specials on the website and only gave a limited selection which we were fine with. She would also forget to bring things and then made us feel rushed saying are you done repeatedly after just bringing out the food and overall did not seem happy to be there. All of these minor things we were willing to simply overlook UNTIL we went to the bathroom which we left our phones and purses at the table (clearly showing we were in fact NOT LEAVING). We came back to our table full of food and drinks being completely cleared away. The server came back and then we explained we weren’t done so she replaced the missing items ok annoying but whatever. THEN we got a new server bc the last servers shift ended and did not even tell us. The new server tried to then charge us for the replacement items that were brought out due to the last server throwing away all our food while we were in the bathroom. Honestly very disappointing. I want to mention we were also her only table and the restaurant was NOT busy or crowded at all so i definitely hope if i one day decide to return i get a different, more attentive server. If I was the manager or server i would have definitely comped some items to make up for the horrendous service but that’s just me i suppose.
EDIT: first of all i never received any response to my detailed email. I returned back to this location to give them another chance. The server didn’t know any of the specials then said it’s his 3rd day here which my friend and I knew was a lie because we saw him last time we came a few weeks ago. He doesn’t honor any of the specials that are literally listed on the website such as 1/2 off empanadas (3). When my empanadas came, it was ICE COLD on the inside so he replaced them. He gave us 2 lunch empanadas for $8 then when the check came we nicely mentioned it was wrong and if they could honor the lunch special on the website. Then the manager came and asked if we ordered the half off lumch specials to which we explained we said Specials on the website multiple times. He corrected the bill and the bill clearly said three empanadas come with the special, which is what we tried to tell our server but he insisted it’s only two empanadas and still gave us the wrong check anyway. We told our story to the manager of this visit and our very unfortunate last visit and all he offered to do was give the third empanada which we paid for anyway???? DO NOT COME HERE GO TO A...
Read morePlease please never come here if you have a single ounce of self-respect. I usually frequent the Midtown location, but I decided to come here a few weeks ago since it's closer to me. My first mistake. I came with two friends for the happy hour we ordered our food and when we went to order our happy hour drinks the server was trying to gaslight us and tell us that they don't do happy hour drinks even though all the locations AND the website states they do. We pushback, she comes back around and we get our drinks. Shortly after we go to the restroom- we leave our plates of food, our drinks, our PURSES, and PHONES because obviously we are just taking a restroom break. We come back to our table being completely cleared........Also our server left without notifying us and we came back to a different server who we tried to explain the situation to, and she couldn't care if she tried. They replaced the trashed items but then still tried to charge us for it. HORRIBLE experience yet since I didn't learn from my mistake the first time around I came back. Today was the final straw. My friend and I came for the happy hour again, and we ordered the happy hour empanadas which are $5 for 3. The server tried to tell us we only get 2 empanadas in the lunch special, we explained that's not how its ever been anytime we've come, he disregards this and brings us the 2 empanadas each. My friend's chicken empanada was ICE COLD on the inside. Okay WHATEVER. When we get the check we see we got charged $8 for 2 empanadas??? How? The price difference is trivial but it doesn't add up? We tell the server and he brought his manager over and the manager fixes the check that CLEARLY shows you're supposed to get 3 empanadas for the $5 lunch special. The manager offers to get us the last empanada to go but at this point I'm so baffled at the inconsistency and lack of knowledge from everyone that works in this place. If management wanted to make it better they could have comped our tab. I even told the manager how we had a bad experience last time and my friend literally left a review too, and yet we still came again. They even told my friend to email them after they saw her review and then just ghosted her lol. Just save yourself the headache and go to the Midtown location.
ALSO our server lied and told us that this was his 3rd day after he messed everything up which we knew wasn't true because we saw him here when we came 2-3...
Read moreThis was my first time at Tacos & Tequilas in Buckhead, and my bartender (I believe her name was Imari?) made it a truly pleasant experience — which is exactly what I look for when dining out.
She greeted me immediately, brought water and chips with salsa right away, and made sure I felt welcome. Even though it wasn’t very busy on a Tuesday afternoon, she still provided top-tier service, which I really appreciated.
The Food: I first ordered a chicken bowl, which came out incredibly fast. Since I had to step away for about 20–25 minutes, I paid for my meal, and my bartender kindly held it in the back for me until I returned—a small but thoughtful gesture that didn’t go unnoticed!
Now, the actual dish: the chicken bowl was hot and well-prepared, but way too salty for me. And let’s be real—you can fix bland, but you can’t un-salt something. Maybe a little lettuce or something fresh would have balanced it out, but as it was, I just couldn’t eat it. My partner also noticed the saltiness, but when the manager checked in, he felt bad and downplayed it.
I got the sense that the manager thought I was just trying to swap my meal for something new when she asked (yet again), ‘What was wrong with the food?’ But that wasn’t the case—I genuinely didn’t enjoy it and would have left it behind. I understand asking for feedback to improve the dish, but her tone and body language after walking away made the interaction feel off. It rubbed me the wrong way and is the only reason for my 4-star rating.
I don’t usually send food back, but I asked if I could replace the bowl with a (less expensive) to-go item, and my bartender was totally understanding. I ended up with a shredded chicken taco salad instead, and that was delicious!
Drinks & Atmosphere
We also ordered the trio margarita tray while we chatted—those were strong enough for my liking, so no complaints there!
Overall, the restaurant had a clean, friendly ambiance with plenty of TVs above the bar, making it a great spot to watch sports. Despite the salty bowl, I’d definitely come back and give...
