Wow, what a complete and total disaster of an establishment. The employees working on Sunday morning should be terminated or this business will suffer.
We walked in on a Sunday around 12/12:30 PM. We wanted 2 smoothies and 3 hot sandwiches. There were 2 women working. Around 1/1:30 PM, another young male walked in to begin his shift.
First, it took about 15-20 minutes to even BEGIN an order. It seemed there was someone in front of us who had placed a large online order but it had not been started so there was that. There were 4 people in our party. We had three transactions. The lady at the register (Barbera) was nice but was inefficient at making smoothies. It seemed she could only make 1 smoothie at a time and it took forever to just make a single one. It took easily 15-20 minutes to make 2 smoothies.
When I walked up to order (this was the third transaction), I had three total sandwich orders. Two Cali flat breads and an egg wrap of some sort. I asked, when ordering, how long it would take, and she said it would take less than 15 minutes. Now, I have worked fast food service before and it is not this difficult. I understand things can get busy but this was simply a complete and total disaster. Barbera, who was making the smoothies, was totally disconnected from the other person making the food. The lady making the food was extremely rude, not only in general to both employees and customers, but just had a sassy attitude, which is ridiculous when I wait almost AN HOUR for fast food.
At this point, I am fine waiting. I try to be empathetic because I have worked in the service industry for MANY years, which also means I know the difference between slow service because of a busy night or slow service because of incompetency/lack of urgency - and this was the latter.
So, I finally received my food order. I did not open it to check because at this point, after taking so long, I assume I would receive good product. Barbera apologized, which was nice, but could not make up for how bad this experience was. I got back to my vehicle and was hungry so I went ahead and started to eat a sandwich. When I unwrapped it, the whole thing looked like a crime scene. Liquid everywhere, leaking all over the wrapping and on me/in the car. Further, IT WAS NOT EVEN FULLY COOKED. The egg nor the chicken. This is literally pre-made food taking almost an hour to prepare. HOW IS IT NOT EVEN WARM? The flavor was not terrible overall (I was hungry so I had a couple bites) but it was literally one of the worst flat breads I have ever had. I thought this had to be a fluke. I opened the others and ALL THREE WERE THE SAME. Under cooked/not warm, presentation of food was terrible, and the egg wrap WAS NOT EVEN THE ONE I ORDERED.
If I could give negative stars, I would. I rarely give scathing reviews like this one. Look at my hundreds of other reviews. I like giving the benefit of the doubt but this was just so bad. To top it all off, there were uber eats folks who had to cancel orders because the store could not make it in time, there were at least 10-15 people waiting for a smoothie/complaining because there was no sense of urgency, and the lady making food could not even get that right.
Barbera maybe just needs more training. She was sweet and apologized. The guy who came into work was working the register and he seemed good. Would help prepare smoothies when not taking orders. He also seemed polite to customers and handled their complaints well. He was not at fault. The food lady NEEDS to be terminated. She was rude to everyone when it was her fault in the first place.
I will be inquiring as to how I get a full refund...
Read moreAwful awful experience. I arrived to your Piedmont location looking forward to have a smoothie. Immediately when I walk through the door, the young lady said, do you have a mobile order in a very disgusting rude tone. I let her know let her know I did not and I started to look at the menu when she immediately told me well do you want food? Because if you want a smoothie, we don’t have ice to make you a smoothie! Once more in a rude tone. I found this to be quite surprising as your company’s name is tropical smoothie and ice should be readily available for your main product sold. I offered to purchase ice for them so that I could have my smoothie seeing as the Sprouts grocery store location is literally 2 feet away from this tropical smoothie . The young lady told me that she would probably not be able to accept it. I let her know the Sprouts grocery store was right there if they needed ice. I left the location upset and drove 20 mins further to a different Tropical Smoothie location. These employees let me know there is an ice machine available in all locations. I could understand if I had showed up to the location right at closing but the location closes at 9pm plenty of time to make a simple smoothie. The first location needs the right supplies to function and employees with better attitudes. As I’m sure I was not the only customer they upset today.
@ Tropical Smoothie I posted this info 7 days ago on your contact page...
Read moreHorrible customer service ! I wanted a smoothly, and got there at 7:40 pm and they didn’t close for 20 minutes. When I walked in I wasn’t acknowledged, and the employee had no intentions on helping me with my order. Some non employee was half way behind the counter, talking to her. He must of been a friend.. because he was the one who told her, she had a customer. She proceeded to talk to me and asked can I help you , with her backed turned making no eye contact! I told her I wanted a smoothie and she responded to me with we are closed. Like whet? What’s was the point in you asking me , Can I help you then? Wow and she had a nasty attitude. lol these places need to stop taking out their frustrations on the customers .. we are the consumers, you wouldn’t have a job if no one came there! It’s...
