Four stars for the food, one star for the service.
We arrived at the restaurant about thirty minutes after opening on a recent Saturday night. We didn't have reservations and the hostess made a pretty big deal about it and said she'd do what she could to fit us in. Imagine our surprise when we walked into the dining room and saw that only two tables out of twenty to twenty-five were occupied. We were seated at the worst table in the room, stuck in the corner next to a door that staff members opened fairly frequently. We figured that maybe there were a ton of bookings expected to arrive shortly. Nope. When we finished eating there were two or three tables occupied. Not sure why the hostess made such a big deal about us not having reservations. Trying to guilt us into a bigger tip maybe?
Our server rushed us through the entire meal. She asked for dessert orders when we were still eating entrees then brought the check while we were still eating dessert. She said that since she doesn't drink, she was unable to answer any questions about the cocktail menu. Not very helpful. She went AWOL for a while during the meal so refills didn't happen, which was unfortunate since the wine was pretty decent. We ate the beef tenderloin and the stuffed cabbage. Both dishes were excellent. The kazandibi dessert (custard with cinnamon) was just ok, nothing to write home about.
All in all, a nice dining experience marred by...
Read moreI've always remembered the scenario from lion witch and wardrobe where Peter when confronted by the ice queen's generosity, The soon-to-be King Peter quickly requested Turkish delight!! Turkish delight indeed. Truva, was not just a dining experience but a cultural experience, not everyone in the establishment is of the Turkish culture but everyone is cultured. The food was surprisingly delightfully textured with flavor, spice and heat, The variety was almost too much to overcome and actually decide on a single starter, and or entree, but first were the drinks, All of which seem to be signature beverages with head spinning juxtaposes of alchemy, I ordered the, basil and gin, along with the calamari which was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside it came with two dipping sauces one must have been a mango spicy dip and the other a cool cucumber ranch I'm not certain but I am certain that they were both delicious pairings to the dish. The atmosphere is absolutely hypnotic it's like being wrapped in the embrace of a thousand baby kittens lol, classy yet extremely comfortable! Our server was delightful and accommodating and our bartender was absolutely facilitating...! I hope you get the chance to enjoy Truva as we did. Don't be a fool and wait too long All good things must come to an...
Read moreAs usually I always don't do anything for my birthday or I look to book places last minute. Well a day before I had booked another place they were already booked up. Called about 20 restaurants the day before my birthday dinner to book this restaurant. Everything was nothing but amazing, the host was able to book my party, even though she told me that might not have been impossible, because they are always crowded and booked in advance. Well she made something happened for me, which I'm ever so graciously thankful for. As I wanted to try an new restaurant anyways. The place and decor was absolutely amazing, also we got to see a belly dancer which made the night ever so epic. The food was amazing and my friends enjoyed their food as well as the atmosphere there. The owner was very nice they brought out a piece of flan and the entire wished me happy birthday, it was so nice and I was beyond excitement 🤗. My friends and I will...
