We first attempted to dibe at 2 other restaurants at 2:30 pm on a Wednesday afternoon in the Beaches. Those 2 restaurants couldn't serve us.
We then chose Seafood Kitchen. What a delight. We were greeted by Liz, the manager, at 3 pm. Not only did we receive outstanding service, but a tasting tour of the various available menu items, but the price was amazing!
She spent time getting to know us. Presented all of the specials prepared a special cooked order of the daily catch, blackened trigger, and scallops with a fantastic cheese sauce and a wonderful fried dish of popcorn shrimp. The shrimp was actually the jumbo shrimp, deveined and butterflied, and then perfectly coated and fried. She also presented a special recipe of their creamy horseradish for the raw oysters I ordered. Additionally, my wife was delighted to have received a cup of the special recipe of collard greens. The food was delivered timely, cooked well with seasonings, and served hot. We enjoyed a sample of the house watermelon sangria. Very delicious. And then there is the homemade key line pie that is to die for. My wife and I enjoyed fish brewed iced tea, an appetizer, 2 combo dinners, a sampling of additional foods and dessert for $61!! This meal would have have cost $120 at the likes of Aqua Grill. And you would have been paying for the expertly designed interior, overstaffed location and much smaller portions. We had plenty of food leftover to bring home.
The daily specials are amazing. 30% discount for veterans on Mondays, shrimp on Tuesdays, oysters on Wednesdays, and more. It's no wonder why this Beaches' icon is still here after decades of family experience.
The only downside to this wonderful landmark is that it is in need of some updating and repairs. However, these are EASILY overlooked with the outstanding food and service that is delivered in this quaint restaurant. Go visit, ask for Liz, and be prepared...
Read more3.21.2025, we arrived at around 8:00 p.m. It was our first time. We had about a 20 minute wait for two people. Our hostess, Mallory arrived to our table in less than 2 minutes to take our drink order. For alcohol, they only serve beer and wine. I was disappointed that they didn't have Near Beer, the non-alcoholic beer. For an appetizer, we had the small crab cake bites (8 count), pound and a half each of the crab legs (three clusters) with a side of baked sweet potato, coleslaw, and collard greens, which was also the special tonight. Our food arrived in less than 15 minutes. Everything we ordered taste good. The crab legs could have been a little bigger. They were seasoned well, and the clarifird butter was definitely a compliment. Hush puppies and crackers come automatically with each meal. Mallory checked in on us throughout our dining experience but she wasn't overboard with it you know where they get on your nerves because they keep asking you how a is everything lol.
The ladies bathroom was clean, the menus were clean, the condiment bottles were clean, overall the restaurant was clean, and I noticed that the tables were cleaned immediately after guest left.
We weren't able to use our military discount tonight however, on Monday's the military discount is 30% off. Every night they have some sort of special. Our meal with appetizer came to $96, which to me was fair considering the taste, quality, and the amount of food given.
