On Aug 2, Golden Nugget sent me an email advertising AYCE crab legs on Fridays at Michael Patrick’s restaurant (see photo). Although the ad said “Limited Time”, a specific end date was NOT mentioned at all, and since the ad said “Fridays” (plural), it was quite reasonable to think that this special would be offered for at least a few Fridays in August. When my cousin and I arrived for dinner on Aug. 16 (after driving all the way to AC from central NJ), the hostess informed us that the offer had ended “2 weeks ago”, which meant the offer would have ended on Aug 2nd (the exact date of the email from GN). Classic bait-and-switch marketing tactics! Needless to say, we won’t be returning to either Golden Nugget OR Michael Patrick’s anytime soon!

One of the priciest places for breakfast in town. For $17 I just expect a little better. This is how my Build Your Own Omelette came out. I've had breakfast at many places in town and plenty of other hotel casinos and never had diced breakfast potatoes like they serve here. They seem packaged and fried and a good size for a toddler, not an adult. Servers don't seem like they want to be there which I don't understand because all you do is take a customers order and complete the check while a runner brings out the food. How hard is it to be nice to a customer for 15 to 30 minutes even if you have to fake it?

Unassuming diner located on the boardwalk. Seems to be family owned. Came here fairly hungover and left extremely satisfied. For a boardwalk diner, prices were very fair and reasonable. I ordered a steak and eggs, which came with a side of buttered toast and potatoes. Steak was fairly thin, about 1cm thick, but it was quite tender and juicy. Service is quick and staff are kind! Would definitely come again

I want to first start off with the fact that it is a really cool restaurant with aesthetically speaking. The food was very reasonably priced for the area, and it was very good tasting as well. So as far as those two key things i would give it a 4 outta fives stars

The thing I had the most problem with at this restaurant was the customer service, and for me that is a big problem. When at a restaurant i expect to be treated like a guest, and not an inconvenience, or like we were invisible. We had a party of 7 people and 2 of the guests arrived before the rest of us, probably by about 30-40 minutes. During that time their waiter never checked in with them, never asked if they wanted a drink or an appetizer. Eventually another member of the wait staff noticed them and got them something to drink, but it was well into the 30 minute point, and the restaurant was not busy to warrant such a delay.

Our waiter seemed annoyed with us, and it was not something that was physically spoken because in fact he barely said anything to us, but it was in his body language.

At the end of the meal when we asked him to split the check he said that he could not do that and he should have been made aware at the beginning of the meal. But i have been in many restaurants, and my brother manages a large restaurant, and never have I heard that it is not possible to split a check except at the beginning of the meal. If that was the case with a large groupe then you would think he would have communicated that with us in advance. I think that is the part that bothered me the most.

So for customer service i give this restaurant a 1 for an over all...

We went here for dinner. Service was fast. But the food was not that great. We’re on a diet and I asked the waiter if the Chicken Milanese was breaded. Confidently he stated, it is not breaded. It is just a chicken breast, broiled, is what he said it was. That was wrong. Not only was it breaded, but it looked like it was fried as well. They may put it under the broiler just to add color. I ate it because we were tired and hungry and I didn’t feel like waiting for another meal. Overall, the chicken was bland and it tasted like the only seasoning it had came from the breading. To boot, I also found an eyebrow in the chicken more than halfway through my dish. They did give me a fresh piece . The only redeeming thing was the arugula salad. It seemed fresh and the balsamic dressing gave it some flavor. The shaved parmesan was non-existent. Maybe I should have sent it back but that was my poor decision. On the other hand, my husband’s meatloaf was salty. Had the waiter taken the time to ask the chef the questions we had, I think our experience would have been better. Making stuff up on the spot about the food will be a turn off , it would have taken him just a few minutes to ask. I wonder what would have happened to me if I had a food...

We were excited to try this place and the table by the window was great, looking out towards the Gulf (even though it was raining). Our drinks came quickly (although there were no straws given) and our order was taken promptly. That’s where the good ends. We sat for 30 minutes waiting on a salad and sandwich. During that time, our server, Steph, didn’t check on us once. I watched as she chatted with every other table other than us. No drink refill, no ‘your food should be coming soon’, nothing. When the food finally did come there was no apology for the wait and still no drink refill. My salad had steak which was virtually inedible -full of fat gristle that was disgusting - on a salad! I couldn’t even cut it with a knife let alone chew it! She never checked on us again. We had to flag her down to get the check. She asked then if everything was good and I told her no (my salad in front of me barely eaten). Her response was ‘oh no’ and then she walked away. One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. Will NEVER...
