Update from my recent trip 10/3 - 10/4/2024:

Hotel - Booking thru APP, pre check in, check out, digital room key. The line upon check in is less than before.

Our family booked two rooms in Borgata, originally requested two double beds, high floor, same floor with my family booking number. I called to Borgata a day before arrival to see if they can arrange a connecting room, even though 1 King + 1 double beds are fine. The Representative just replied I have to go to Front Desk to request upon check in. That’s mean she won’t do it. The receptionist was able to arrange with 1 King + 1 double beds but with lower floor 6 when I checked in. I was not satisfied with the Representative answer on the phone, she can but she just don’t want to do it. I worked in the same industry before and I knew they can, so why guests put a comment request upon booking, but they never take a look on their customers needs as a “ 5 star hotel” ?

Room is not completely cleaned, I found a hair on the toilet seat, the TV cabinet is dusting and the cabinet door ( Refrigerator ) has white stings and I have to use sanitizer to wipe it off. My dad’s bedsheet has some spots on it , the mattress has blood, very disgusting. Luckily we bought our own bedsheet everywhere we travel. Hairdryer is very sticky, outdated, without a cover bag. I don’t agree the rating as “5 star hotel”.

We traveled with two kids, be careful the glass top on the bed stands and TV Cabinet, it’s easy to cause injury. We used paper towels and some towels to cover it.

Parking - Parking Fee is $10, can pay in advance need to scan the QR Code, enter your information, car plate number and make credit card payment ( No Apple Pay ). Every-time you go out, the gate will Automatically open and you will receive a text message. For those doesn’t know how to use, there still an employee at the exit gate to assist. We still need to wait for the line.

F&B - I ordered just a bottle water from two different Casino Floor Servers in the slot Machines area, because I don’t drink alcohol. It’s past 2am, the floors were slowdown, I been playing there for hours but none of them comeback to me. The 1st lady replied “ Ok. I will come back” , because she was out of the bottle water on her tray. 2nd lady comeback with the cocktails to the couple who playing next to me, and I was ordered before them. Very disappointed!

Below comment was 5 years ago with 3 stars:

My husband and I stayed at Water Club for 3 days 2 nights. Below is our experience would like to share:

Water Club Front desk - There is not much people lineup for check in which I really love it. Unlike Borgata is always a long line in front of the reception upon check in. Receptionist is friendly and helpful. Check in process was fast and easy.

Hotel room - Had a one busted light (at the Bathroom mirror) upon check in, it’s ok for us. We don’t like the shower valve trim because it’s super hard to turned ( Not suitable for elderly people and kids ). Every time we must get a hand towel to covered it up and then turned to operate. The shower room had a rain shower and shower head dual mode. If you over turning the shower valve trim, you may get shocked by suddenly the rain shower it’s on. Room cleanness still needs to improve.

Water Club Pool - Nice with indoor & outdoor pool, it’s for 21 years old and above. However Below 21 can still go to Borgata indoor pool. water club pool too early to closed at 6pm, would suggest to close at 8pm.

Borgata Buffet - Food selection is very limited and the menus was always the same. It’s boring and tasteless. Waitress was friendly.

Website- suggest online hotel reservation can add guest comments and request upon doing the online booking. Guest will be more appreciate if you can do extra work try to accommodate them to make guest feel satisfied.

Casino - Table game dealer customer service is improving. 8/13/19 night shift Paigow dealer Ruth, Thao & Johnson ( Not sure his name) were very friendly and helpful.

Overall, we been here for many years, we enjoyed our stay at...

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and MGM Tower: A Mixed Experience Rating: 3/5 stars This review covers Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, including the MGM Tower, based on two stays over a year (summer 2024 and 2025). I evaluated both hotels, the casino, and amenities to provide a comprehensive perspective. Borgata Hotel & Spa: The Borgata Hotel is a 3.5-star experience, despite its 5-star billing. The layout is confusing—valet, bell services, and check-in are off the casino’s main “race track” loop, with poor signage. Arriving via the parking garage, I wandered for 15 minutes to find the front desk. The check-in area gets bottlenecked during peak casino hours, and when I arrived early, the staff pointed me to the casino to wait, with no lounge or seating area offered.

The room was average for the price—clean but not impeccable. Misaligned wall decor, dirty baseboard edges, and a structural whirring noise from wind outside disrupted sleep. The elevator lobbies lack clear signage, causing confusion, and the spa/pool areas were hard to locate without staff guidance.

Hospitality was lackluster: no matches or lighters at the concierge (odd for a casino-affiliated hotel), and I was directed to buy one at the gift shop. The casino’s dominance overshadows the hotel, making it feel like an afterthought. Rating: 2.5/5 (Hospitality: -1 star, Cleanliness: -0.5 star, Casino influence: -1 star). MGM Tower at Borgata: The MGM Tower offers a better experience, closer to a 4-star vibe. The valet and lobby are straightforward, with a welcoming seating area and a long hallway separating it from the casino’s noise and smoke. Shops line the hall, and a morning coffee stand adds convenience. Signage could be clearer (beige-on-beige marble is hard to read), but amenities are accessible.

The room was clean, with no housekeeping issues, but cigarette smoke lingered in the non-smoking floor’s hallway, indicating ventilation problems. Valet service is rigid—cars parked in the wrong garage won’t be moved unless you’re a high-tier MGM Rewards member. The tower feels distinct from the casino, which is a plus for relaxation. Rating: 4/5 (Hospitality: 3/5, Housekeeping: 5/5, Casino influence: 0). Borgata Casino: Run by MGM, the casino is upscale but not exceptional. Table game minimums rise during peak times, which is expected, but there’s no clear way to check buy-ins or minimums without a long, long walk. The table-to-slot ratio feels off for a supposed 5-star destination—more tables would elevate the vibe. Signage is minimal and ceiling-mounted, making navigation tough for the visually impaired or anyone in a hurry. Ventilation is a major issue. Tobacco and marijuana smoke created a haze in non-smoking areas during my 2025 visit, triggering my asthma. This wasn’t a problem in 2024, suggesting recent ventilation issues, possibly tied to ongoing construction and a roof leak I noticed. The casino’s restaurants are pricey but good, though not standout. Dealers are patient during off-hours but less so during peak times. I lost my gambling budget both visits—par for the course. Rating: 3/5. Summary: Borgata tries to cater to high rollers and those chasing luxury, but it falls short of its 5-star claims. The MGM Tower is the better choice for a refined stay, ideally booked with points. The casino is decent but marred by poor ventilation and navigation. The MGM Rewards system feels elitist, with high-tier members getting perks like line-cutting and better point conversions, leaving lower-tier guests like me feeling sidelined.

I won’t return and wouldn’t miss it. A rebrand to “MGM Atlantic City” and a refresh could help—the “Borgata” name feels dated and tacky. Worth a try if you’re curious, but temper...

We stayed at Borgata twice this summer, and I think I have had enough data points to do a proper review.

The location isn't the greatest as it is a good 2 miles away from the boardwalk. The approach from the highway can also be quite confusing. Exit H but the exits are on either side. Fortunately, traffic was very light during all the days during our stay; so I wasn't as stressed as I could have been..

The hotel itself has a luxury vibe. Compared to most other casino hotels in Atlantic City, it is one of the more current. There were plenty of check-in counters and we never had to wait long in line. The casino area is just the right size such that you won't get bored and you won't get overwhelmed either. The rooms we stayed in were nice, though none of them had bathtubs. There was a refrigerator during one of our stays but not the other; so I'm not sure what the scoop is.

There are many bars and restaurants on premise, including a buffet. But what's even more convenient is the Marketplace Eatery which is a food court that includes a good variety of specialties: Chinese food, Mexican food, pizzeria, burger joint, ice cream parlor, cheesesteak, wine and green bar, bakery, as well as a food mart.

There are 4 swimming areas: A-Borgata indoors, B-Borgata outdoors, C-Water Club indoors, and D-Water Club outdoors. A is the most accessible, located right above the casino floor; it's also the most crowded rowdy with lots of adolescents. B is co-located with the beer garden so only drinking age and older can enter. It's the most vibrant and includes amenities you can reserve such as cushioned poolside couches and cabanas with TVs and refrigerators. C and D are located on the Water Club side which most people probably wouldn't know they can access if they stay at Borgata. Both are for 21 years and older. They provide an elegant and serene ambience for spending a quiet quality time.

We enjoyed both of our stays and would definitely recommend this casino resort to anyone.

UPDATED 9/4/25:

Just stayed another 2 nights during the week following Labor Day. The place is still very well maintained compared to my last stay 3 years ago. The retail shops are the same, so are the restaurants and food court stalls. They made an effort to update the theme in the lobby and the area coming in from the indoor garage. The only change that I didn't like was that they removed one of the two hot tubs on the Sports/Spa level.

Also of note is that post Labor Day they really reduce operating hours. For example, the Borgata Buffet are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the pools at the Water Club doesn't open until 10 am and closes as early as 5 pm. And most detrimental - the Beer Garden pools are closed after Labor Day except for 2 more weekend days following it. So these are some cons for staying during off season.

We ran into several snags during our stay. For example, no handicap accessible rooms, no shower chair, and our room keys somehow automatically deactivated at 8 am on each morning. The staff I interacted wasn't able to help, except for Marcey, who was very understanding and helpful on many occasions. She saved our day. Thank you!

BTW, the handicap accessible showers are nice but with one mayor flaw - the shampoo and body wash are fixed on the shower wall opposite the shower chair. There is no way a handicap person can reach them.

The resort fees are now up to $41.63 per night, taxes and fees included. Parking continues to be free for MGM rewards members (Pearl level and higher), or $10...
