My husband and I went here on a whim last weekend for breakfast on our way to Capron Zoo. We were the only people in the entire restaurant at 10:30 AM on a Sunday morning. The menu is pretty limited and heavy in Portuguese cuisine.
If you're looking for a simple breakfast sandwich, you're in luck, they do have those. My husband and I both got a breakfast sandwich and a side of home fries. I had a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. The bagel came lightly toasted, so it was still quite bready and came with standard American cheese. I would rate the sandwich at 6/10. I would come back for it over making it myself at home.
The home fries were very flavorful but greasy. They were well seasoned and was full of finely diced green, red, and yellow bell peppers. If they were a little crispier, I'd give them a 10/10 but they way they were served, I'd rate them an 8/10.
The decor inside leaned towards the breakfast/coffee esthetic but it was tastefully done. The music was on the loud side. Even though we were the only patrons inside, the service was lackluster. My husband didn't get offered a coffee refill. I drank water and was given a bottle and a glass full of ice, which was nice. I did not look at my receipt to know if I was charged for the water though. On the plus side, we were offered to sit down at a table and he came and brought us the menus (I had been looking at it at the counter). The downside of being ushered to a table was that the pastries aren't on the menu and you can only see them from the case. Once I was seated, I forgot all about them until I paid at the counter.
Would I go back? Probably not unless I was in the...

Read moreI went to this Cafe yesterday because I wanted an afternoon pastry, and I really did not want to go to a chain coffee shop; I was looking for something more home made. Thankfully, this establishment granted my wish, and I was able to enjoy a really delicious beef empanada, and a traditional Portuguese pastry. Marie, the owner, was there, and she provided me with excellent customer service; she is a very lovely woman. Furthermore, the atmosphere of the shop was very homey, perfect for an individual, a family, or a couple to enjoy a bite in. Lastly, the prices a very fair! 100%...
