Mediterranean Grill & Pizzeria (Attleboro) — Restaurant in Attleboro

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years and it has always been a solid choice over the near by chain restaurants. However my last 2 visits, including today’s, have been awful food wise. The last time I ordered a grilled chicken club sandwich and it came out burnt with a weird smell. A burnt smell but also it smelled like it came out a oven with plastic or some kind of chemical smell. I gave the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was just a bad day in the kitchen and returned today. That was a mistake as today I ordered a steak wrap and it smelled the same strong weird smell and another odor from the meat, my guess is that meat was bad. I live with a chef and we throw out meat that smells that way so of course I didn’t finish it. As a consumer who doesn’t feel comfortable sending their food back to avoid scrutiny, I just kindly advised the waitress that this occurred twice already. She offered to bring another plate but I kindly refused as I was completely turned off at that point that this even happened twice. The quality of food has plummeted here and it’s unfortunate as I consider myself the occasional regular. I was not offered a reduction in my bill, albeit I did not ask for one, but, given the circumstances, I felt it should have been offered due to the inconvenience. We tried for the first time on a Friday night after reading rave reviews. It was very busy, from what some regulars said it was busier than normal. We had open table reservations but switched to the bar instead. Tried the coconut margarita and espresso martini both were fabulous! The menu is gigantic so there is food for every taste. For apps we got the vegetarian messa platter and the cheese dip and pita….wow 😋the cheese was nice and crispy on top with the warm fresh pita, the hummus, taboulli, and tzatziki were amazing u could taste all of the flavors perfectly!! For entre i got the special of honey glazed salmon over butternut squash ravioli- this was my favorite part of the night!! So delicious I savored every bite. Salmon cooked perfectly and ravioli so tender. My husband got the surf and turf and was just as satisfied. They cooked his filet perfect and he was amazed by the quality especially for the low price. We got desert to go Thats made at a local bakery, also very good. The portions are very good size we took home enough for a second meal . The staff was friendly , professional, and efficient. There seemed to be some regulars there which we take as a good sign, also families with little kids. The atmosphere was lively, clean and comfortable. For two entres, two apps, two drinks and two deserts it came to $130 which for the quality of the food in Boston or Prov would have easily been $180-200. It is a wonderful experience to have great customer service provided by a friendly, well-managed team whom have the shared goal of making the customers feel special. My wife and I arrived early and started our evening at the bar, waiting for our family guests to arrive. Every team member pitched in and greeted customers, as they themselves flowed in and around each other, constantly busy and moving with purpose.Several members of the team welcomed us or inquired if we needed to order. Beside the energetic and attentive staff, I was soon to be completely satisfied with our meals. We started with Calamari Fritto, garlic bread and a large cheese pizza. All were well received by everyone in our party. I followed with a fresh side salad and my wife enjoyed a cup of Lemon Chicken. I was happy with my choice of Seafood Paella, a flavorful and well balanced mix of scallops, shrimp, mussels, scrod and lobster meat over rice. My wife chose the Seafood di Mare, also a well balanced mix of seafood, but over pasta with white wine, lemon butter sauce. The remaining family members enjoyed Chicken Parmigiana, Wild Mushroom and Truffle Risotto, Shrimp Primavera with marinara sauce and another with Alfredo sauce.
