I against my better judgement let someone talk me into going. I unfortunately felt the same way maybe even less impressed than before and trust me I have yet to be impressed w/this establishment. A long time ago we had gotten take out. I couldn't believe how awful the food was and for me to complain it had to be rough. So again, as I tried relentlessly to get my fellow lunch pal to go to Shang Hai, no no you will like it give it another try. I said alright I'm going to. I don't know if they check the reviews, but they definitely need to. I was a customer today with my daughter,my aunt and my mother. I went at this whole thing positive. Well I prayed that while I was choking down my tasteless food that someone else felt the same I mean c'mon they have to! Finally, my aunt chimed in and said Does anyone else think the food is awful? I was like yes, yep I sure do and my daughter also was literally grossed out. I was besides myself with how terribly awful the egg roll looked it honestly looked like it was filled with grass and dingy dead plant life. I can't get over how all the food on our table and there was alot it was absolutely TASTELESS!! THEN you have the waitress, now I thought she was very personable, but as far as being a waitress. Nope, she didn't belong there, I asked for extra rangoon with my meal instead of teriyaki I got xtra chicken fingers not rangoon, my daughter ordered Popcorn Shrimp, we actually never got that at all! My aunt had asked for chicken wings she b browsed about and came back and finally I had to say something, I mean clearly this entire experience was terrible for all involved. Oh except for my mother. I don't understand that but she said she enjoyed and really liked the food! Listen, there was not one thing that we ordered that was even slightly good. All AWFUL, AWFUL, NO TASTE Had same issue 2 years ago with take out order we sent it all back. They refunded our money. I guess I have explained myself enough as far as if you want edible Chinese Food. Shang Hai is where it's at!! Always fresh, Always Hot! I personally would eat there over The Mon Kou any day!! Not to mention the owner, the older Chinese lady when she is there she has the rudest disposition. Never smiles. Just a miserable face, and seemingly stone-cold attitude.I realize my review is very long, but I had to say how things were. Unfortunately my experiences here have been anything but positive. Chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner with my family because I have always loved coming here but never again! Our experience tonight was absolutely awful, this place does not accommodate well for large parties whatsoever. I have always loved the food regardless of the slow service but tonight has truly changed my mind about the place and I will no longer come here.

Made a reservation earlier in the day for 14 people. Our waitress received absolutely no help and also was waiting on the entire side of the dining room we were all sitting in. Food came out sporadically over the time span of 45 minutes and all out of order, half was cold despite the covers on the metal dishes. We understand that the place was obviously short staffed however if they were unable to properly handle a large party they should not have taken the reservation. Nobody had drinks refilled or napkins and our waitress was clearly frustrated which reflected in the service she provided to us. She should have had help from other staff to run food, give refills, clear dishes, etc since she was waiting on so many other tables at the same time as us.

Our bill came to over $500 and despite our awful experience, the owner refused to discount our bill or do anything to help make this situation better. When we complained and asked the owner to rectify the problems she refused and said she has never given discounts to anyone and that the kitchen was short and did not care. Clearly just money hungry and does not care about her customers at all. I feel bad for the employees and hope other customers choosing to dine here do not have the same horrible...

Been coming here over 30yrs, always for a special treat, their Crab Rangoon's. Well I got a craving for them and ordered a rice and crab rangoons, I know they are expensive $23 for an appetizer and rice 😲 but I love them and I'm splurging and driving all the way over there for my food. (A friend picked it up for me) I get the food and I am very disappointed 😔 there's hardly any filling in them, it's all crispy wonton, Look at them, there's pics. I figured I'd call them since I took pics if they asked to see them. Well the guy answers and I ask for Manager, which I think he lies and said he was the manager. I told him how long I've been going here and I get the crab rangoons and there's hardly any filling in them, he's telling me well usually they are filled all the time, I said yes I know, I don't know what happened here, maybe not enough food or someone just having a bad day and I would like a refund for the rangoons, I will pay for the rice. He hardly listened to me and told me No, I said I can send u pics, he said No as he didn't believe me. I asked as a loyal customer and the right thing to do is refund the money. He said Nope if u would've brought it back in then they could refund. Anyways I was very disappointed w the food and the attitude and how rude the person on the phone was.
