First of all it was absolutely FREEZING in the restaurant. Several tables mentioned how cold it was. Very small restaurant so you can hear everyone’s conversations. Both servers were running their mouths at the drink station stating how hot it is in there. Wasn’t hot at all. Our server brought our drinks to our table, came back to take the order. She took mine & my child’s, as my child is completing her order another table came in our server ran to their table as my husband begun placing his order cut him off completely. Rude, very much rude. The tenderloin sandwich is huge, 2 people could eat it. That bun is an embarrassment to the sandwich. However it could use some seasonings. The tower of fried veggies is absolutely horrible. The onions, mushrooms & mozzarella sticks all tasted like FISH! Gross. Waste of money on that for sure. Green beans are from a CAN. Nasty. Our server was all over the place. We watched her as she ran around, she would ask other tables how their food was, never asked us. I asked for a couple to go boxes, and FRESH drinks for the road. She said I’ll just give you cups for the “watered down” drinks you have. It’s no wonder we visit hardly at all. It will be...
Read moreI love the Auburn Town Tavern, but it's not much to "write home about." The food is great, for what it is: Small Town Diner Food. It's hot, it's fast, and they have never gotten my order wrong. The quantities are fair for the price you pay. The thing that drags their score down in my eyes is the atmosphere. It's small--maybe 10-14 tables for families, and then there's a section of seating in the bar. Nothing's updated--and when you visit, which you should, you'll agree that--that's as it should be. The most major thing I wish they could update is the bathroom--it's really tiny, and kind of a triangle shape--which is ackward at best. And, while you could totally get a wheelchair into the resturant, I'm not sure you could get one into the bathroom without some creativity. Overall, it's a good place to eat. Get the tenderloin--and you won't need to eat again the...
Read moreI came here after being featured on the local news. The food was good although I felt my particular dinner was a little overpriced for ($19 for a fish entree) this type of establishment. The particularly bad issue was the waitress's abrupt attitude with me. I watched her interaction with others, and the issue was me. My husband also noticed it. She seemed rather annoyed. Twice. In one of those instances, I was actually trying to be of help when she raced with her arms full toward a table. I tried to move out of the way. She moved back and forth and asked me where I was going. She waited on numerous tables while we waited forever to pay our bill. They were short-staffed, but that was no excuse to treat me rudely and different from other guest for no obvious reason. I guess I didn’t have...
