We had a brunch baby shower for my Daughter In Law this past Saturday morning on March 2. I thought it would be pretty neat to have Baker's Dozen Donuts. I placed an order online at the very beginning of February. When I placed this order, it stated online that the owner would be in contact with me within 24 hours. I waited a week and never heard back. I called Bakers Dozen and was very pleased to speak to the owner. She apologized for not getting back in touch with me and stated her website had been acting weird. Fine, I completely understood, not a big deal. She had all the information down that I had submitted online, and even offered to do a little something special with some of the donuts in the shower theme of moon & stars. We confirmed number of donuts (52), the date (3/2/24), and time of pickup (9am). The baby shower was in Van Wert, Ohio and I was at Baker's Dozen promptly at 9am that morning to pickup my order. I walked in, and there was nothing there ready for me. Nothing down in my name for anything. There was no information that the lady behind the counter could find from my submission online or regarding my phone conversation with the owner 3 weeks prior. I asked if she was the owner, and the owner was not in that morning. I was really disappointed to see it was as if I had not placed an order at all, and it was as if I was just walking in to buy 52 donuts. We had to wait when we were on a time crunch, we got the donuts that had already been made and already sitting in the display case for the morning. There weren't any special donuts with any moon or stars as offered by the owner per our phone call. I was willing to go the extra mile when it came to cost and tips. Although the lady who helped me that morning did her best at trying to get us taken care and make things right, I can't help but feel this is a HUGE customer service issue. Forgetting and/or Losing customer orders and customer phone calls is no way to run a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLiving literally 3 block away on Main Street we obviously had to try this place immediately. We moved to Auburn from Fort Wayne and couldnāt believe there was a lack of donut shops in the area. So we were thrilled when this place opened and are our neighbors. The first time we had the donuts this business was barely open, so we expected glitches. The shop of course was chaotic and messing, not a bad thing in my opinion. There were kids everywhere decorating boxes etc. everyone was friendly and helpful. Donuts, I had no expectations, so hereās my take. The donuts are unique, they are bright, colorful and loaded with sugary toppings. They are deep fried before your eyes, so yes, they have a fried taste. They are also smaller than a typical cake donut, again not a bad thing. This place isnāt the run of the mill donut shop but should be appreciated for what it is. We have been in the shop consistently for this last year and theyāve got their groove going now. All that being said, my teenage boys think this place is meh, and to clarify they both love all kinds of donuts especially cake. Both kids definitely think the toppings are over kill and the flavor isnāt for them. Its either your thing or itās not. Try it for yourself. Itās a donut, on its worst day, itās still an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited this establishment for the first time this morning. Loved the initial experience when we walked in girls were kind and helpful. Unfortunately, while we sat and ate our donuts we watched one of the workers finish restocking the donuts with gloved hands. Then she proceeded to go and close the door that had been propped open and replace a vent cover on an air return by the door with the same gloves on. After doing this she went back behind the counter and with the same gloves, no sanitizer or changing the gloves now dirty from touching the door and vent cover, began icing donuts. This was truly appalling to my husband and I. The donuts were good but after seeing that we will not be returning to this shop. I hope these workers can get some additional training on food safety for their sake and everyone elseās. We even heard this worker mention in conversation with her coworker that she also works at subway. Really hope that she can develop more awareness about food safety and...
