Returning to Auburn for a reunion, I was looking for some pastries to contribute to breakfast at the home of a friend. Ran across a FB post concerning the grand opening of Foodies — they were open on Sunday afternoon — so I figured, “Why not give them a try?” On Saturday, I placed an online order for SCONES, to be picked up on Sunday afternoon. No flavors listed on the website. It would be nice to list them, but it’s no biggie. They called me on Sunday about an hour ahead of pickup time to ask what flavor I wanted. I made my selection and said, “See you soon.” When I arrived, my order was not yet ready. Momentarily disappointed— however, the reason it was slightly delayed was because they decided that they’d rather provide freshly-baked scones, and they were still in the oven. OK! Sounds great! I did wait about 10 minutes, but that allowed me to walk around to check out what they have on the shelves. They have unique and interesting items available. I think my friend who lives at Lake Martin will be checking them out.
The scones! We had them for Monday morning breakfast. Decided to not take time to heat them up, and they were wonderfully delicious! Sometimes scones are crumbly and almost dry. These were rich and moist even at room temperature. So so good! We had some chocolate chip and some brown sugar cinnamon. I definitely will return for scones — and I would like to try Foodies for lunch sometime.

Read moreI will never go back, and I advise everyone to stay away. Good coffee but disgusting food. I went to Foodies for the first time yesterday and the only positive thing I have to say about my experience were the baristas were exceptionally kind and apologetic. I ordered two sandwiches, the price already being in the twenties, I decided it best not to order anything else. Then following my order was a group of five or so people, and when I waited for my order I found that those people behind me were served their food much faster than I was even though their food seemed much more complicated. So, when I sat in the restaurant (if you could call it that) and watched the cooks make (not my) food without gloves, with their (very long) hair down, and even one didn't have shoes! It all looked beyond help! I finally got my food after wait forty minutes for two sandwiches and found an extremely long hair in my sandwich when I got home! Besides the sandwich was not good at all. And it's so awkward in there, the furniture looks as if it was hand picked by someone who's never seen a...
Read moreAbsolutely lovely experience! This was our first visit but certainly not our last. The paninis were amazing with very fresh greens, breads, and cheeses. We tried two different ones. I had the jittery cow, chocolate milk and coffee and it was delicious. The scones were soft and a generously sized. They had infused olive oils and vinegars with jars in varying sizes and opacities that you could choose from and pour and bottle yourself. Had a great selection of groceries, wines and niche items that would make amazing gifts for any foodie. The entire establishment was in pristine condition including the restroom. We are giddy to have...
