KP'S Place — Restaurant in Auburn

Unfortunately we just recently came back here to get take out during this pandemic...and the food was not nearly as good as a year ago. They quartered the scallops before breading them, which means you only get a small portion of the actual scallop. which is slightly dishonest to do. Making people think maybe they are just small scallops when in fact they are regular sized scallops cut into quarters. The portion of the overall food was much smaller. I understand cutbacks due to covid but to quarter your scallops, give less food and raise prices and still charge $20!! Its wrong. I've loved this place since I found it a couple years back but to quarter your scallops, raise prices and not give the normal amount of food, that's just dishonest and so disappointing and upsetting. Food was ok. The clams were excellent and so we're the chicken tenders. I got the seafood platter. The haddock and clams were perfect but the scallops were gross they use bay scallops not sea scallops and they taste horrible and fishy (bay scallops are really cheap). The shrimp tasted precooked before they fried them so they were almost crunchy. The fries are not good either they use crinkle cut. The batter falls off everything except the clams. I absolutely appreciate the food that KP's has to offer. It's a well hidden local joint that's recently expanded. Their customer service is great and the delicious food is cooked fresh and served quickly. The snack size basket is plenty filling with overflowing amounts of food, whereas the large basket can comfortably feed two adults; and the price for the amount of fresh seafood is astounding.
