Let me start by saying I have not eaten at this establishment. I looked over the menu a while back and the food seemed a bit eccentric for my palate. However it’s the negative reviews that make me want to try it. There were two negative reviews to which the responses were flawless. The first review was towards racial discrimination. The owner responded with time stamps as a rebuttal, but also acknowledged a zero tolerance for racial discrimination as a minority owned establishment. The second negative review the owner looked at the camera and verified the customers complaint. Their response was ownership! They verified the area they were lacking, acknowledged the complaint and desire to correct the behavior, No excuses we’re given. These responses demonstrate they care about their customers experience. For this reason I want to be a customer. That being said you can’t please every customer case and point when the time stamps verify a lie also the customer that complained about what they serve. If you don’t like the kind of food served just choose not to eat there not leave a bad review to which the owner’s response was flawless there too, which was No response. Their energy and effort went to acknowledging the things worthy of acknowledgment the things that they can learn from to improve customers experience not fluffy apologies towards a choice to serve food native to their culture. Again if you don’t like the type of food choose a restaurant that serves food you do like. I want to visit just to support a business starting out and doing their best to ensure their customers enjoy their experience.I will update my review on my experience...
Read moreIt was our first visit here and our first hotpot experience. The waitress took the time to explain the whole process and answered all our questions. She was so helpful and attentive. The hotpot is AMAZING.
The "double" portion size is HUGE and more than enough for multiple people to share. We got the fishmaw broth and the tom yum broth. I highly recommend both. Seriously, they were some of the most delicious broths I've had. The tom yum had whole slices of lime and ginger and was light, acidic, and tangy. The fishmaw broth was deeply rich and flavorful; it's a savory umami bomb. Spicy level one was perfect. It had a significant kick without being too much. You can also add extra chili oil to taste!
The sliced beef and rolled pork were super tender and flavorful, I absolutely recommend those. All the vegetables were crisp and fresh, too. The seafood wasn't my favorite (octopus, crawfish, lobster balls), just because it came frozen and had a bit of funky brine flavor. Plus it took a lot longer to cook than everything else. I'd stick to the meats and vegetables next time. Still, it was worth trying!
The experience was five star from start to finish. We're already excited to come back and try it again! Comfortable atmosphere, phenomenal food, and super friendly,...
Read moreIf there were more stars to give, I'd give them. We tried the restaurant today and were blown away in every aspect. When we walked in, we we greeted by a smiling happy person who didn't just glare at you and say, Follow me." When we sat down, this delightful person explain the entire menu to us. Thay have American Chinese, hibachi, and hot pot. We orded eggrolls and pan seared dumplings and they were phenomenal. My girls ordered one milk tea and one fruit tea (both for $1 right now!) and i was told they were delicious. We had one hibachi chicken, one chicken lo mein, and one Sichuan chicken. They were all delicious. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, the meats were cooked perfectly, and the rice was fluffy and scrumptious. I ordered the Sichuan chicken and the spice was perfect! It was hot enough for me to feel (which is hard to do) but it did not blow out my pallet. The service was the best service I have had in Auburn. And in a time that businesses in general seem to have forgotten the customer aspect of their businesses, this place has embraced it and we would come back just for the service alone. If you are looking for amazing Asian food (adjective used because of the different styles offered) then look no further, Lucky Pot is where...
